"No f**cking way." A million thoughts ran the Gideon's mind at that moment.
'The earth has a consciousness? Why did it never speak until now? Why me? What sort of situation requires the whole planet to personally speak?' Gideon's heart was in turmoil.
"What do you want?" Gideon calmed himself and asked. He didn't question the authenticity of the voice as there wasn't anyone that had the ability to speak into his mind other than the system and his daggers, other than that something deep in his heart was telling him to trust the voice.
&Your help.& The voice said simply and Gideon sucked in a cold breath. Even though he had a vague feeling, hearing his own planet ask him for help was surreal.
&There's a terrifying threat from another world and he has set his eyes on us to use for a breakthrough.& Hearing this Gideon furrowed his brows. A being strong enough to threaten an entire planet.
"Wait, how do you know this?" Gideon was perplexed as to how the earth was able to know how there was a threat to it from another world.
&The world that the person is from sent a warning message that there was a being who would suck out the life force from living things to grow in strength, and it wasn't spared. It used some of its last bit of energy to warn.& The earth explained and Gideon paled.
'What the actual hell!?! This guy sucked up his whole planet's life force to the point where the planet itself had to warn others!? What scratch that, there's an ability like that?!?!' Gideon trembled when he thought about this.
&It also told me that he was constructing a sort of gateway that would lead him here.& Hearing the last part and the fact that emphasis was placed on 'constructing' Gideon asked the dreaded question.
"How long?"
&8 years.& Hearing the response Gideon took a breath and asked.
"Why me?"
&Because You also have something on you that is from another world, something that hold unbelievable power within.& When the world replied, Gideon immediately said.
"The system."
&If that is what you call it then no problem. Anyway I sensed when it appeared and fused with your body. At that time you were on the brink of death. Not only that but your power began to grow at astonishing speeds. So I thought that if this so called system allows you to grow stronger this quick, then perhaps you would be able to grow strong enough to defeat this threat.& Gideon's eyes widened when he heard this.
'So that's how I acquired the system. I knew something had happened while I was unconscious but to think it came from another world.' But he quickly rid himself of those thoughts. However the origin of the system had interested him more.
"But what about the platinum level mages and extinction level monsters? Even if they aren't many they should still be enough to hang up on this guy." Gideon suddenly remembered, however he just heard a faint sigh.
&You must understand, the amount of life force a world has is so abundant that it could produce tens or even hundreds of beings at that level, yet he devoured it without a hassle. So if he absorbed hundreds worth of life force, do you think that those people you just refered to are even worth a slap?& At this point, the Earth's voice had started to become agitated. No it wasn't agitation, it was fear, fear of dying.
'If what it's saying is true, then that means we don't stand all that much of a chance should this guy actually get here.' Gideon pondered, but then he found another issue.
"Wait, I need to kill things to become stronger. If he's that strong then that means that even of I killed the strongest people on the planet then it would still be insufficient to kill this guy." When he said this, the voice gave an unexpected answer.
&I know, that is why I collaborated with another world that's bigger than me so that we can send you there to train.& Gideon's brain froze.
"I'm sorry what!?!" He asked in shock.
&Mhm, I basically convinced another world with stronger beings there for you to train as if this being manages to absorb my life force then the other worlds are not safe.& The voice said normally.
"No not that, I mean first of all, you can just casually have conversations with other worlds?!? Secondly, there's a world with hundreds of platinum and extinction level existences, and you want me to train there!?!!" As this point, Gideon had a massive headache.
&Yes and yes, though the longer the distance then the more energy it consumes. Anyway the name of the world is Zion, if I'm not wrong you humans named its star system proxima centauri.& Once again, the voice said like it was a normal thing. Well it was a normal thing, just for worlds.
It took Gideon a long while to digest all the information and calm down before he put on a serious face once again.
"When do I leave?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second day of the tournament had come, and like yesterday, the city was bustling with activity and everyone was hyped, well apart from one person.
Victoria sat down in her VIP room absentmindedly as she recounted what Gideon told her the night before.
THE NIGHT BEFORE
"Wh- What do you mean you're leaving!?! Y- You just got back, you have to be joking right, this must be a joke." Victoria said in disbelief as Gideon broke the news to her.
"I'm sorry but yeah, I have to go and it way too important for me to not go. Don't worry, I'll stay till when the tournament is over." Gideon said in an attempt to calm her down.
"I'll come with you." Victoria suddenly said with determination.
"No." Gideon's voice was irrefutable.
"But I-"
"Victoria I said no!" Gideon said, his voice slightly raised.
"Look, it's simply too dangerous for you to come. Moreover I'm still not strong enough to carry you from here. It's for you own good." Gideon said solemnly.
"In the end, it's still because I'm not strong enough." Victoria said with gritted teeth as tears streamed down her face.
"I waited so long just to see you again, but just after a week and you're already leaving again." Victoria's aura began to fluctuate.
Gideon immediately formed a barrier around her to.stop her aura from alerting the people of the house, but what happened next stunned him.
Strands of purple hair began to appear on her head, and this time it was noticable. Moreover, Gideon watched as the fire and water elemental particles went towards her body, but before they reached her, they fused and turned purple before entering her body.
&Take her with you.& The world's voice suddenly sounded in his ears which stunned him.
'Wha- are you sure?' He asked in confusion.
&Mhm, I didn't notice it before, but this girl is creating a new form of magic unknown to me. And it's very powerful.& Hearing this, Gideon had the urge to throw his head back and shout ' My sister is the biggest genius in the world ', but he stopped himself. He then looked at Victoria weirdly and said.
"I'm Victoria, the circumstances just changed, turns out I can bring you along."
PRESENT
Victoria repeated what he said to her in her mind over again, she had still yet to completely process everything. In fact, she didn't even notice when it was her turn to fight and the staff had to snap her back to reality.
'I need to focus.' Victoria shook her head and stepped on the arena, she had to win this tournament first before anything.
