Reema somehow developed a crush on him, and so one day, she proposed to him when he was having lunch with a few more friends. She was very sure that Rahul would be overwhelmed by hearing the proposal and that he would accept it in no time. After all, she was loaded and beautiful enough, and what boy wouldn't consider himself fortunate to have a girlfriend like her? In contrast to that, Rahul politely declined his proposal. It was shocking news for Reema, and she took it as her humiliation before the entire class. It was hard for her to concede the rejection and move ahead. By hook or by crook, it became her obsession to make him her boyfriend.
She did not stop here. She began to trouble Rahul in some way or another, and she went to an extreme level in this process. Rahul was getting perturbed with her every day nonsense, even then he was tolerating the whole stuff because he did not want to elongate the matter. He was well aware of how important his study was to him. Rahul was an extraordinary boy from an ordinary family which included his mother and three younger siblings. And her mother was doing the job of stitching in the factory to support them. But one day, he got so annoyed with her nuisances that he declined her friendship proposal and made her fun before the entire class by saying,
You know, Reema, you are good for nothing. What do you want to talk about with me? No decent person would think of making a friendship with you. After all, what do you have that would impress any boy? You are not good at studying, but somehow you manage to pass the exam. Again, your performance is not up to the mark in sports and other co-curricular activities. I did not want to hurt you, but it is a great fact that I do not find any oomph factor in you. You have a boring and dumpy persona who shows off her father's wealth and makes friends to blow the money.
It was pushing her to her limits. She couldn't take the humiliation she was subjected to in front of the entire class. She could see a complete silence prevail in the entire class as soon as Rahul hollared at her and they kept staring at her with their mouths agape. She lowered her head and, with a weepy face, returned to her seat. She had made up her mind to take revenge on Rahul for first rejecting her proposal and then speaking ill of her in front of the entire class. She determined that she would not sit down until and unless she did not smear his character and make him expel him from the school. She promised she would ensure that he did not get admission to any other school. There was a crooked smile on her face when her mind was making some dirty plan to get Rahul into his trap. On the other hand, Rahul was equally sad. He had a gut feeling that she was going to do something major to trap him. Finally, he had a word with the class teacher and told him the whole thing, from alpha to omega. Rahul's class teacher assured him that he was absorbed in his studies without any tension.
For a couple of months, everything remained quiet in the class. It seemed as if Reema had realised her mistake. But then one day, she blamed Rahul for forcing her to kiss her in front of his friends. In reality, she had bribed those boys to speak against him. But she did not know one thing: that somehow her conspiracy had leaked, and she was caught and her plan foiled there. Actually, her teacher had spoken with her previous teachers, and through them she had learned what kind of girl Reema was and where she could exact her vengeance. Therefore, she always kept her eyes on herself at every activity. She had to ask him to apologise before the entire class. And she was left with a warning.
Rahul was a sensible and mature boy. However, he was so feared that he showed his desire to the class teacher to be shifted to the other class so that this thing would not occur again. Actually, he did not want to remain in the same section with Reema any further. But he was so popular in his class that the entire class began to demand that Reema's section be changed. Finally, she was shifted to another section. No doubt, her love for him indeed vanished after that episode. Still, she couldn't get over the humiliation she'd suffered at the hands of Rahul and the rest of the class, and she succumbed to depression.
Since Ravi was the chairman of the school, the principal had hesitation in switching his daughter's section while keeping him in the loop. At the same time, the principal knew that Ravi was a sensible person and the parents as well. Ravi was called into the school. He was related to the entire episode, from scratch to finish. He was sad to know about Reema's things, yet Ravi ceased the Principal to let Reema know that he had come to the school and knew the real stuff. Actually, he wanted Reema herself to come forward and confess her mistakes before him. But it could not happen because, as always, I intervened in the matter. Since he used to pay a tremendous amount of money to the school as a donation, they got ready to do so. No doubt, Ravi provided a lot of assistance to the school. Plus, he used to sponsor all the bright students' expenses from a poor, needy family. Still, he used to have zero interference in school affairs. As a matter of fact, he was very particular at this point that Reema did not get any special treatment in school. Even Reema was unaware of her father's contribution to the school.
Even in the other sections, she suffered a lot of humiliation. The news of her misadventure did not take much time to reach there either. Students were also avoiding making friends with her. They did not include her in the game either. She was shifted to the last seat forever. But they did not stay behind to make fun of her, and teachers always reminded her of her misadventure. Students began to take advantage of her and gave her a tough time when she complained about them to the teachers. Instead, she was silenced by the shut-up call. I remembered she was crying bitterly that day after getting back from school and refused to go to school the next day. Rather than braving the class another day, she began to demand that she would not go to the same school again no matter what.
