"What aren't you telling me?" Victor asked, turning towards Devotion.
"What do you mean?" Devotion tried to play dumb.
"I'm not an idiot, Devotion, There's more to this than you're letting on. What aren't you telling me?" Victor asked again.
"I'm sorry. You're right. I'm leaving things out. The short answer, Victor, is I don't know if I'm allowed to. Whatever this Karma is, it seems to be associated with everything that goes on, and I feel sharing these things is taboo. Why do you think I had to undergo Tribulation? I'm learning too much too quickly, so they tried to take me out early. That wasn't tempering, it was destruction." Devotion said. He wasn't lying now.
"Who do you think they is?" Victor asked. Devotion had referred to a they, without specifying who.
"The heavens. Or at least, what we know as the heavens." As Devotion spoke on this, the Tribulation lightning within him began to flare up. Clouds began to condense over him.
