"I think everyone does. This still doesn't answer anything about Victor's role in this, or if we should trust the Duke or not. It sounds like Merem was implying the duke accidentally killed both Ambrose and Alabaster. That's... a lot." Devotion was still processing what he had learned.
"Well, do you believe him?" Ysmir asked.
"If the past day hadn't happened, I wouldn't. But I think I do now. Which is terrifying. What if it wasn't an accident?" Devotion began to pace around, thinking out loud.
