Devotion's aura continued to climb, and his eyes grew more and more bloodshot.
"Devotion, stop! There's too much power in those cores, it's going to bedevil you if you aren't careful!" Ghostwhisper's voice suddenly rang out again, this time not in Devotion's head, but out loud. Dreven and Leza heard it.
"A benefactor? This just got more interesting." Dreven was surprised. This Devotion character had secret after secret, and he desired all of them.
Ghostwhisper's raspy voice rang out more, and the staff actually appeared on its own volition, Devotion not touching it. "Silence, brat. Call me a benefactor one more time and your bloodline ends." A sickly, deathly aura erupted out of Ghostwhisper.
Devotion knew that this was a scare tactic, and that Ghostwhisper actually couldn't do anything in this scenario, but Dreven did not know that. That aura was immensely terrifying, and instantly locked Dreven in place. For a few moments, Dreven was paralyzed with fear.
