"This is your grand plan?" Devotion asked, seeing where Ysmir had been leading him.
"You got a better idea?" Ysmir responded bluntly.
"Can't say I do. Fuck, we don't have a choice, do we?"
"Nope."
"Damnit."
For context, Ysmir's genius plan was to hide inside the corpse of a magical beast that they had slain. It would mask their scent and aura sufficiently, and provide ample cover. There were plenty of magical beasts large enough after their slaughter the previous days, so it wasn't too difficult to find one.
Devotion found himself face to face with that bear they had slain a few days ago, it's body now limp and devoid of any color. That blue aura had faded once the crystal core was extracted.
"Alright, just cut it open and slip inside. It'll be cozy." Ysmir urged. Devotion gulped. That was disgusting, but they really didn't have a choice. He swallowed his pride and summoned the Frostbrand sword, slicing a large gash into the bear.
