Devotion looked down at his purple, burned hands, then back up at the sky, cracked like a plate. He focused on that lightning condensing above him, containing nothing but the will of destruction. He looked at Ysmir, who was prepping itself in much the same way. Devotion knew that this would be the greatest trial he'd faced so far, but failure was not an option. He had too much to live for a figure out. Dying now would be too regretful, and would cut his entire life short. What a waste that would be.
CRACK!
The lightning whipped down once more, like a rattlesnake that just spotted its prey. It struck Devotion head on, wracking his body with thunder force and trying to destroy every molecule of his very being. Devotion resisted, using his rapidly growing aura to quell that destructive energy. However, there was no break between bolts anymore. Another slammed down on him, just as he expelled the first.
Then another.
And another.
And another.
