Devotion, Holden, Alex, Victor, and Ysmir stepped back, away from the small mob forming around this Dreven Krauss character. Boasting that you found such a valuable treasure was a horrible idea, especially when there were so many people who were disappointed to be leaving empty handed. In their eyes, you had just opened another opportunity for them.
Dreven and his group were quickly surrounded, but nobody quite made a move yet. He smiled a sinister smile, seeing all those people approach him.
"Face your death, Dreven, and hand over the page!" A cultivator in that crowd shouted. "If you just kill yourself now and hand it over, I promise not to desecrate your body!"
After that one jeer, the entire crowd erupted into shouts, each demanding that Dreven Krauss hand over the page. Some were much more vulgar than others. Devotion was almost jealous at the creativity of insults being tossed around.
