As the small group awoke that morning, they were newly invigorated and refreshed, ready to finally reach a proper town. If things went to plan, they would reach that town by nightfall, and actually be able to get a decent night's sleep. Even better, reaching that town signified the halfway point of Devotion's journey. Fortunately enough for Devotion, nothing crazy had happened yet to push him off course.
Well, Devotion supposed that you could refer to Leza as something crazy enough, but she at least hadn't tried to kill him. Yet. Devotion was still waiting for that pin to drop. Everything about their encounter seemed off to him. She had seemingly showed up out of nowhere, and he still couldn't get a solid read on her aura. She easily could have lied to him about being at the bottleneck between Second and Third Rank.
In other words, everything about this Leza character was too good to be true!
