Devotion convinced himself of this idea as he walked forward, holding his light up to the blank wall of rock and carefully examining it. He ran his fingers along that wall, feeling for a secret indent or groove, something that could be useful. Anything at all.
"It's hopeless, Devotion. Let's just head back." Victor said. He just wanted to be able to see properly again.
Just as Devotion was about to resign himself and give up, Ysmir's voice rang out.
"Hold on, you might be onto something."
Devotion looked down and saw that Ysmir currently had its ear up against the wall.
"Do what I'm doing. Listen. The wall is thin. There's something on the other end." Ysmir said, leaning its head further on the wall.
Devotion followed suit, leaning his full body on the wall and listening with his right ear.
