"I don't know if your ears are malfunctioning or it's just you being dumb." He taunted her. He knew the poor one would be cursing him more now, but what could he do? he really enjoys poking fun at her.
If looks could kill. But then he is her boss, there is nothing she could do but yield. 'What a crazy man, he has loose nuts in the head, that am sure of'. She thought. She nodded and left to go home.
..
Seconds turned to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days, days to weeks, weeks to month.
It's been three months and she truly has survived the mood swing of her boss, he was weirder than you'd imagine, an epitome of hot and cold.
The both of them got along well with each other despite the weird behavior of her boss. But... Not Without throwing sarcastic remarks at each other.
The day went pretty well for the both of them, this time without argument.
.
Damien was on his way home when he got a call from his father's secretary. The voice at which the secretary spoke with put him on an edge, he didn't want anything to his father, not now, not ever. He was panicking as he changed direction and headed to his father's house.
The moment he stepped into the house, he was greeted by his father's cheerful voice, "Son! you are here!" Damien felt confused, isn't he the one that was said to be unable to walk and was bed ridden for closely 3 hours now, what was going on. Or.... is this..... don't tell me....
"Don't be mad at me, okay? You know you've been scarce and....You wouldn't come see me if I don't put up the act." The old led his son inside while justifying himself.
"Like seriously!" He just couldn't believe this man. "Is there a problem why you had to do that?"
"hmm.... Not really a problem." The old man looked thoughtful.
"If there was no problem, why can't you just call me to come without having to put both of us through this, I mean your secretary sounded agitated, scared, panicked and every other negative emotions were radiating off him, and here you welcome me with a cheerful voice, assuming I had an accident while rushing down here what would you say." Damien was frustrated out of hi Witt. "Don't tell me this is another....."
"No, no, it isn't." The old man took a exhaled, his face became serious. "Sorry you had to rush down here like that." He apologized.
"What is so important that will make you and your secretary act childishly."
"Come sit" Leading them both to the sofa, the old man began complaining, "You made us act childish, I couldn't think of any better way to get you to come. You forget about me, it isn't fair."
'Okay, I didn't see that coming. wait...did he just....' Confusion was clearly written on his face, he really didn't see this coming, why was he acting this way. "Dad, are you okay?"
Seeing how concerned and bothered his son looked, he felt touched. He knew Damien misunderstood.
"I'm fine. There's someone you need to meet."
....
*Knock Knock*
"Who the hell is it." Eli mumbled and went to get the door. She had been enjoying her beautiful sleep when she heard the loud knock, she didn't want anyone to disturb her, not now.
"ta da" Upon opening the door she was greeted by her best friend. "Surprise!!" Lana yelled.
"Hey, keep it down."
"You're not even happy to see me?"
"That's not it. It's just that...."
"you're waiting for your boss to show up." Lana couldn't help but tease her friend. Lana knew too well that the both of them, employee and boss, they kind of like each other but keep denying it. It was just a matter of time. "And you wouldn't want me in, huh?. oh oh, I'm not your boss, well..."
Eli became crimson red at the continuous mention of her boss. What a jerk.
Lana handed the cake in her hand to the slightly flushed woman in front of her.
"Happy birthday" Lana whispered.
