Chapter 19 - Hudson's Cure

"Xavier, please check on these herbs in the enchanted garden and retrieve them?" The Doctor handed him the piece of paper. Xavier left the room to perform the job. "I need your blood to combine with Herb." Doctor.

"Why my blood?" I asked. "You are a unique species with a healing power unparalleled in its ability to cure any illness. The combination of your blood and that plant may be our only hope of saving Hudson from the poison consuming him."

I nodded and extended my hand for the Doctor to draw. My blood and Xavier walked in with some herbs in their palm. When he saw the Doctor taking blood from Dean, he stared at Dean with a questioning expression, but Dean disregarded his gaze. "What the hell is going on?" Xavier asked a question.

"Take her blood for the sake of treating Hudson with the herbs that you have." Doctor Fae stated gravely as he lowered his head, mixing the herbs with my blood, and Xavier stared at Doctor Closely and Dean as if he didn't trust Doctor Fae's explanation.

Doctor Fae opened Hudson's mouth and fed him the potion while Dean, Xavier, and I scrutinized him to see whether the magic was working. "It will take time for Hudson to recover. In the meantime, I advise Aria and Xavier to go. Dean, it's entirely up to you whether you want to remain." I gazed at Xavier, who refused to depart as the Doctor ordered.

"Where is the Hudson family?" Dean, have you notified them?" Xavier asked a question.

"Are you telling Xavier that I sought to conceal that Hudson's state existed from his family?" Dean's voice came with irritation.

"I don't know whether you haven't told Hudson's parents about his condition, but the royals of the Vampire kingdom and the top vampires of the school will turn against you," Xavier said.

"Xavier, shut up..." I shudder when Dean makes a growly noise.

"This patient's condition hasn't improved. Please leave the infirmary right now." Those statements from Dr. Fae cut off Dean's conversation, and Dean rushed out of the room. We followed him out the door. Dean didn't speak any further and left for his office.

"Why did you choose to argue with the dean?" I inquired as Xavier, and I checked on Maggie's well-being.

"I am certain Dean has not informed his family or anybody else." Xavier's voice came tinged with rage. "Where did you get that idea, and what will Dean gain from hiding?" Although he threw me a furious side look, Xavier remained silent as we watched the nurse patch Maggie's wounds. When Maggie saw us, she waited for the Nurse to depart so that she could talk freely to both of us.

As soon as the Nurse departed, my and Maggie's eyes puckered in anxiety. Finally, she inquired in a panicky voice, "How is Hudson, and what did the doctor say?" Xavier put his hand on her shoulder to reassure and calm her down. "Maggie. Doctor Fae has administered the drug to Hudson, but we do not yet know the outcome." Maggie's expression became melancholy as she clenched her fists and looked downward.

"It was all my fault; I should have stopped the thing with magic, but I was too weak to rescue Hudson, who was protecting me and struck by creatures," Maggie said. I gave Maggie a tight embrace to calm her down after letting out a loud sob. "The scenario is to blame, and it's not your fault, Maggie. You did your best under the circumstances." Again, Maggie wept, and Xavier's face sank into ours as he stared at us with concern.

"Come on, Maggie. I don't like it when you weep like this; you're stronger than that, and you will not give up." Maggie nods at my encouraging words and wipes her eyes as I offer her a tissue.

"Do you know what the beast resembles?" Xavier inquired after Maggie's meltdown had subsided, seeing her calm down. "Their tail is small and feeble, and they only have two arms and four legs. They have four eyeballs that are squished together in their sockets. Although their skin is tough, it isn't very thick. Instead, it's covered with short, curling hairs. Skin tones vary from pale yellow to reddish-orange, becoming deeper."

Xavier believed that the description was accurate, and so did I when I attempted to imagine that I had previously seen a monster of this type. But I couldn't recall at the moment. "I've never seen or read of anything like this beast," Maggie added.

"Where did you combat these aliens?" I inquired.

"They were in France as we were heading for New York to accomplish the assignment, and they emerged out of nowhere. They also damaged people, but no significant injury occurred." Maggie elaborated. Humans are aware of alien attacks on earth, and they know our organization in the human world as the Alien death squad sent by the human government. However, they do not know who we are, and we may not reveal our true identities as supernatural humans. Though we fight, they only can't see our magic or True form because the fighting gear helps to cover us from human eyes. The Dark academy uniform was created by human scientists and witches together as per the Human governments.

"Maggie, relax for the time being, and don't worry too much." So we let Maggie rest, and Xavier and I reflect deeply while students go around campus to take a break from studying. "Where were we going?" My query jolted Xavier out of his reverie.

"I don't know what's going on. Too much crap is happening, and our teams are being injured. Don't you think it's too many coincidences?" Xavier expressed his dissatisfaction, and I could understand that since so much is happening, it makes me worry about future events because everything is a new event and nothing occurs the same as in my past life.

"I understand, Xavier."

"Oh, Hey, Aria," Eva called out as she went beside her team's witch, Mia. Xavier had a blank expression on his face, but he did not glance at Eva; instead of looking away straight ahead in the distance.

"What do you want from me?" Eva smirked at me, the witch Mia gazed at me nearly like Glare, and I couldn't figure out why she was doing so.

"Are you seeing Xavier…." Faced with Eva's comments, I wanted to smack the woman's face for asking me that question. But I see that all the pupils' focus is returning to drama.

"Why do you ask? Are you into me? If so, I'm not interested in dating you." Eva's scowl and Mia, the witch's combination of annoyance and amusement, greeted my response. I gave Xavier's side glance, who had trouble controlling his sneer.

"You… Why do you think I'd be interested in you when I'm straight?" I sighed as she hissed at me.

"What do you want me to think when you ask about my connection with others? I assumed you were jealous of seeing me with Xavier, and you can't bear anybody near to me." Eva's cheeks were flushed with rage.

"I despise you, and I asked you that question because you are dating my ex-boyfriend," Eva yelled Before I spoke.

"Wait, you're jealous of me being someone else? Why don't you go before you are further insulted yourself and make a fool in front of the others?" Xavier responded harshly, and Eva looked at him with a shattered lover and agony, as if she loved Xavier. There were whispers, and I could see the fan girls staring at me with Glare and Eva, who had dated Xavier, as I gazed at Xavier's face of absolute hatred.

I felt Xavier's hand on my back, and it startled me for a second, and my green stare glanced at mine, and for a second, I saw a hot focus on me, and I gasped, and my heart skipped a beat because his face appeared so near. "What are you doing?" I inquired quietly.

"Please pose as my girlfriend so I may avoid the Fan ladies who would pounce on me so after this drama." His deep voice made my pulse speed up, and his scent flooded my pounce, sending me into a haze for a second. "Xavier, I can't do it." I attempt to break away from him, and as I glance around, I see everyone gazing at us.

"You're aware that I have an announcement to make." "I know you won't listen to what I have to say," Xavier remarked, with a smirk and his adoring stare. "I'm in love with Aria." He grabbed my hand, and the crow moaned in pain from female students; male students walked away as if they were not interested in this shit.

"I'm sorry, Aria, but I can't stand fangirls, and seeing my eyes desire to look at me. Please assist with the act for the next month till I discover a solution." I growled at his dumb excuse and wanted to protest and shout at the other people surrounding me. I tried to tell them that I was not his girlfriend, but students vanished with grief, including Eva and the witch, before I could speak. "Fuck you, Xavier, don't speak to me." He let go of my hand, and I turned to walk inside my room. When we have so many problems, Xavier does silly things to make me upset.
