Chapter 2 - Chapter One

~What a night~

Long, long, long time ago. Somewhere on planet earth, named The Realm of Magic. Where all magical creatures abide. A human supernatural family called Viotto(Vee-Ah-to), rules kingdom Aneshia.

Night in the Princess' castle in kingdom Aneshia. Princess Stephanie and her parents are in the royal dining room, waiting for Dr. Victor and the servants with food for dinner, with famished expressions.

Stephanie taps her fingers at a time on the table hungrily, the queen spinning her fork with impatience. Then, the king meshed his hands together, gazing at the doorway waiting for them to come in. Then Victor comes.

Stephanie got up, shouted "YOU!" and came closer to him as if she was going to cannibalize him for dinner. He was frightened when this happened. So, as she came closer to him he retrograded. Then Stephanie asked "Please tell me what you have been doing?!"

Then the king interrupted what Victor was going to say next and uttered in a peckish tone, "Stephanie please sit down, shouting can't do anything. Victor, what in the world is going on in that kitchen?"

Stephanie is still in front of Victor, so, as he heard what the king asked, he walked away from Stephanie with a bolted look as he approached the king towards the end of the dining table. Stephanie looked at him with a timorous look as she walked towards her seat, peckish and hopeless.

Then Victor answered the king "We have been waiting for food supplies since and till now we haven't received them," with a hopeless look.

Then the queen asked "Don't you feel they should be here by now? And of course what caused the delay?"

"There was a controversy between the head chefs and the people in the market yesterday and yes the food stuff must have arrived, I suppose."

"My apologies to your highnesses. I'll be on my way, bringing the food... It should be ready by now," he added.

"Okay all is forgiven and get going I don't want any further delays," the king said.

"Yes sire," Victor said and then ran out of the scene with worries. Stephanie asked the king "Dad do you know what the time is?... It's very close to midnight!"

Then she vigorously reclined herself on her chair, interwoven her arms to her chest and looked at the doorway.

"Sorry dear," the king said in a low tone.

"Forget it, in fact why is Victor in charge of two posts? Being a doctor and at the same time in charge of the food supplies?" Stephanie asked fastidiously.

"Well, I'll resolve that problem soon. For now he's really doing a good job anticipating both posts," the king said.

"Yes I suppose..." the queen answered and there was a moment of silence.

Not too long before the king saw Victor coming in with other maids bringing varieties of food. And then everyone's mood changed immediately.

Victor was strutting along the workers feeling very pleased with himself. So, immediately when the food was served, the king unbuckled his belt and removed his crown, the queen removed her bangles and earrings, Stephanie removed her gloves and jewelry and they all ate like licentious uninhibited frantic barbarians. And Victor joined.

So, while they were eating, Victor asked Stephanie about her wand if it was functioning well.

"It is working well I suppose? It's good for a scientist like you," she replied jokingly. Then Victor reconsidering in his mind and looking perplexed.

"But its powerful actions are too slow, as a princess that I am. Do you think I have time to waste?" Stephanie said ferociously while eating, and passed her wand with little force and to him at the other side of the table.

Then the queen actualized what they were talking about and added as a third interlocutor. "Victor In situations like this, you're meant to keep upgrading her wand every now and then, I thought you were smart in everything you do, but I estimated I was wrong." After saying that, she turned a blind eye and faced her food.

Victor was about to converse but Stephanie interrupted him. "I guess I'm not the only one seeing things now. What do you think of me? Do I look like a third class to you? Look, if you don't get it upgraded I'll downgrade you!" she retorted.

Victor said out of hindrance "Hold it right there! So you can't at least thank me for making it and this? Do you know the trouble and headache I went through just to make your wand?"

Stephanie was about to talk back but Victor stopped eating and banged his hands on the table, which caught everyone's attention and interrupted her saying.

"You know what? I think you're not hungry at all and don't need that wand because after all I'm the one who made it, and I'm done being your Royal Scientist and..." the king interrupted him.

The king said in a very cruel tone "What in the world is happening here? 5 minutes of eating is about to cause a lifetime calamity all because of this controversy? This is very nonsensical!"

The queen finished her food and pretended she didn't hear a thing and quietly left the dining room with no one suspecting a thing. Victor didn't say a thing because he was too annoyed to do so.

Then Stephanie finished eating and said "Look Victor, I never said any form of detriment to you, you just don't want to accept the fact that you make mistakes. Besides anyhow you see it, take it that way, because we never forced you to get this position; you actually begged." She said and pushed her plate away from her, interwoven her arms towards her like she was going for a fight.

The king did want to diminish the argument, Victor nor didn't Steph care much, they were too angry to anticipate to any of the king's orders. The king got up out of hindrance and went to his room.

So Victor said looking directly at Stephanie saying "It's not my fault I'm an intelligent person with a lot of skills that you're jealous of, there are many places better than this freaky castle," he said.

"I would have more salary than here so don't blab your mouth, the only reason why I'm here is because of my parents that I'm taking care of. I thought we would become great friends, but I estimated I was wrong." He stopped eating and looked down.

After Stephanie heard this she unwove her arms calmly and actualized that what she said was wrong then she asked with a low tone. "Are your parents doing well?"

Then Victor replied softly and said "No they're not. They're in a magical coma," Victor replied.

Stephanie comprehended but perplexed kind of. "So, when will they wake up?"

Victor answered and said "I don't know, some witch casted a spell on them, I've been doing research about it and it took over 6 months and till now I have nothing."

Stephanie then insisted "Wow! I guess I can help with my magic?"

Then he said "But direct magic might just kill them, don't you think?"

They both left the dining hall to Victor's workshop to talk more. But Stephanie wanted to snack on something, so she grasped four chicken wings but ate one already.

She ate her second chicken wing while she said "Umm...forget about my magic. You collect magical flowers right?"

Victor said "Yes I do, so..."

"So...go to the field tomorrow and search for the right flowers and make a potion," she said.

"I will do it," he said.

"What?! Stephanie you've finished the four chicken wings so swiftly?!" he clamored.

While she was scouting if she could see another chicken wing she said "Yes what do you expect me to do? Anyways we've been conversing a lot and it's really getting late, what's the time?"

Victor checked he's pocket watch and scouting for it still she saw none and gave up. So he said "It is 1:45 a.m. it's really late. I'm off to bed now, you?"

"Yes, same here, but my apologies for what I said earlier."

"No problem, all is forgiven. I'm also at fault. I didn't accept the fact that I made mistakes, sorry."

"You're forgiven as long as we both know we did something bad." Then they hugged.

"So, goodnight?" she asked.

"It's a goodnight, Bye milady."

Immediately when she left the workshop off to her room, he shut the door and flopped on his dilapidated bed and dozed off.
