Chapter 1 - Part One; Prologue

'Be he foe or friend.Be he foul or clean.Brood of Morgoth or bright Valar,Elda or Maiar,or Aftercomer.Man yet unborn upon Middle Earth, neither law nor love, nor League Of Swords, dread nor danger, not Doom itself, shall defend him from Fëanor and Fëanor's kin, whoso hideth or hoardeth,or in hand taketh, finding keepeth or afar casteth a Silmaril. This swear we all, death we will deal him ere day's ending.Woe unto world's end. Our word, hear thou,Eru Ilúvatar. To the everlasting darkness, doom us if our deed faileth. On the Holy Mountain, hear in witness and our vow remember, Manwë and Varda.'

Standing before the Fraternity Of Fëanor, three elves took their oaths. They were being ushered into the Fraternity.

Aktaion Albion was a strong and bold looking elf,of the three. He had long russet hair, cascading down his lean shoulders, and piercing blue eyes.He definitely was not the type to mess with.He spoke with vigor and confidence while they took their oaths.

Aldon Albion was a strong and sarcastic looking elf.He wore his long fawn hair in a ponytail, part of it cascaded down his strong shoulders. His lime green eyes gleamed with sarcasm and pleasure, endlessly. He, definitely, liked to joke and play around, like a little elf.

Unlike the others,Arion Albion was a feeble-looking elf.He had short dark brown hair and striking blue eyes.He looked the kind to play around with but wasn't what you would mistake him for.Arion was a strong elf, despite looking feeble. He was a perfect swordsman and a much more perfect archer, unlike his brothers, who only were perfect at swords.Arion proved to be one unique elf, earning him the dirty looks from all the other members of Fëanor's Fraternity. Arion stood before them, all, wearing his usual calm and unbothered expression.

"Brothers..." a voice called.

Lord Bairrfhionn, the Chaplain of Fëanor's Fraternity raised his hands for the elves gathered around to be quiet. Immediately the trio were done with their oaths, the congregation before them had burst into murmurs.

Lord Bairrfhionn was an old, about 594 years, and haggard looking elf.He had long silver hair and amber eyes, haggard ones.He wore a diadem around his head, which denoted his chaplaincy over Fëanor's Fraternity. He spoke with a raspy and croaky voice, coughing occasionally.

"Brothers,"he called, leaning onto his staff for support,"today we have witnessed the inauguration of our kinsmen. Today [cough]they have been ushered into The Fraternity and from today on,they are tasked to protect what the Fraternity has protected for hundreds of years, with their lives.[cough!cough] I don't have much to say but to bless these young Elves, with the blessing of our father, Fëanor,"he raised his staff and pointed it at the trio,"I, Bairrfhionn,by the blessing of our Father Fëanor, bless you, Aktaion, Aldon and Arion, sons of Albion,to never ever in your life give up your role to protect the Silmarils, with your life, unless death meets you. I bless you with everlasting life,so you can always be there to watch over our Father's most treasured treasure.[cough, cough] May the Allfather,in the Holy Heavens, bear witness to you and guide you.And may he,who never cease to watch, doom you to the everlasting darkness and coldness if you fail[cough cough].

With those words,he staggered back to his seat, coughing as he went. He, definitely, was sickly.

"Thank you,Lord Bairrfhionn!"the three chorused their thanks.

Lord Bairrfhionn took off a ring, from his finger and placed it into a runic hole on his throne-like chair. The crowd watched in silence as three portals opened,on the wall behind him.The portals gave off a bright purple light, forcing them to shield their eyes, lest they lose sight. When it had finally calmed, the portals became visible.Three churning doors.

"Each of you has a destination.Aktaion will guard, with his own life, the Silmaril that lies in Rivendell.Aldon will guard, with his own life, the Silmaril that lies in Lothlórien. Arion will guard, with his own life, the Silmaril that lies in Gal Míren."

The trio readied themselves to go on their duties.Just about then....

"Arion!"a familiar voice called from behind Arion. That voice sounded like....

"Elrora!"

An elf clasped Arion into a tight hug,her warm tears wetting his chest.Arion couldn't resist the urge to return her warm hug.Elrora was his best friend, nearly becoming his counterpart.Arion stroked her long black hair, trying to comfort the silent weeper.

"What are you doing here, Elrora?"Arion asked, pulling her away from himself. She wept silently."I...I wished to see you off,Arion."She wiped a tear off her face.

"Don't cry,"Arion helped her wipe her tears.

"How dare you leave without me?"Elrora asked, trying in vain to toughen up."If there was a way,"Arion said,"You would come with me for sure."

"Please do not leave me alone,"Elrora begged.

"Elrora,"Arion said,"you must try to understand."

"What don't I understand,Arion? What more is there for me to understand?"

"I cannot take anybody along with me.You know that, don't you?"

"Arion...why can't I go with you?"

"It is against the Fraternity's Laws. They think you could be a hindrance for me"

"But will I be one?Arion... please tell me.Will I be a hindrance to you?"

"Of course you wouldn't be.But please, Elrora, try to understand....I have dreamed to be a Guardian ever since I was born, and I never couldn't be one. Now,I'm officially a Guardian and you know very well how I love to be one..."

"But you said you loved to be with me..why,then,are you leaving without me?I could be a great help to you?"

"Hey,Arion.Make it quick. You're delaying us," Aktaion cut in.

"Be right there,"Arion said.He turned to Elrora,"I must go.Please take care of yourself.. and my mother."

With that,Arion walked away from Elrora, leaving the elf in tears.Arion didn't really have a choice. He loved that elf, though he didn't mention, but decided to kill his love for her, since the Laws Of The Fraternity said love was a big hindrance to their cause.

"I'll see you, soon,Elrora!"he whispered, stepping into the portal.
