Chapter 3 Mountaintop's Backside
"Uncle, do you know me?"
Hearing what the teenager said, his grandfather awkwardly gave a hollow laugh and quickly explain to the middle-aged man, "Sir Frank, please forgive the child for his rudeness. He's still young and doesn't know some matters."
"Might as well. I don't mind," the man said to the grandfather. Then he turned his head towards the teenager, and said, "I'm Frank. You can call me Uncle Frank."
"Sir Frank is the people in-charge and the right-hand man of the ancestor. You had once met him when you were 5 years old," his grandfather introduced.
The teenager looks to Uncle Frank carefully. As expected of someone with the name Frank. He has an honest and frank smiling face.
Short straight blond hair, fair skin, blue eye, a bit of moustache giving a touch of maturity.
Although wearing white Tang suit inside with white robe outside, somehow it does not feel out of place. It felt like his facial feature, makings, temperance fit nicely with the white suit and robe.
'Are you sure he is not a model or superstar you kidnapped from overseas, grandfather?'
The bear child seriously suspected.
'And why must you kidnap such outstanding man and not beautiful woman instead? Is there any kind of unspoken rule here that I'm unaware of?'
Should he prepare his heart?
'No. I'm not prepared yet. What do I do? I'm waiting online, very anxious!'
Looking at the child's changing expression that kept getting weirder, the grandfather knows this kid was thinking of something absurd again. And it is apparent that his thinking became more and more crooked if you give him time.
So, he decided to change the topic.
"Well then. Let's us depart. We don't want to let the ancestor wait for too long."
Frank agreed and nodded. He told them to enter the carriage and he will drive them on the road.
The two enter the carriage. It was a luxurious but low-key carriage. It places comfort and safety in its design, thus making the ride smooth.
Riding the carriage as it drove through the stone road, the person inside didn't feel any shaking or vibration.
'It feels even more comfortable than riding the sport's car.'
The teenager had several times secretly drove his cousin's sports car several months before. He and his cousin had gone out for a drive just for the feel of driving it. It was indeed a comfortable ride and able to go high speed without feeling any vibration.
At that time his cousin bragged and boasted about any shock absorber use, what Bilstein, what Monroe, what Carrera, or so on vocabulary, making him worship in awe. He might not understand it, but he knows that it means awesome.
No need complicated explanation. Just awesome!
So, when he rode any other car or vehicle afterwards, he would subconsciously compare between them.
And he must admit that the carriage that he looked down on, feels more comfortable.
The carriage only has two-seater seat facing the front. It was a leather seat with seamless design, fitted for elite feel.
On the other side, there's an adjustable worktable, cup holders, various utensils and so on. The layout is similar in design with a car's luxurious compartment.
Like a curious cat, he keeps looking around asking his grandfather from time to time.
The front part of the carriage is ceiling-to-floor glass, allowing the passenger to watch the full view outside.
Looking to the front, through the glass, the teenager noticed that instead of a horse, or little pony, but some kind of unseen before creature. It has a body of horse as expected but part of the body there's scales, an odd tail...and it seems something is protruding on its head.
The creature seems was bump into something or was hit hard on the head that there's lump on its head.
"The poor thing. Not only has it contracted ichthyosis disease, but also was not mistreated and abused. Look at that lump. You must have suffered," the child sob for the injustice the creature.
Hearing the grandson's remark, the grandfather who was leisurely treating himself to a cup of specially prepared spirit tea, couldn't help but spurt a mouthful of it.
He continued to cough hard while looking at the wasted tea being spurted. Such precious tea was wasted, he felt depressed.
Even he, could only enjoy it when visiting the Ancestor. Now it was wasted. If not his control over his mind was strong enough, he might have already vomit old blood and fainted.
He hated iron for not becoming a steel to this grandson. His grandson everything is good and satisfactory, except for his cheap mouth.
If want looks, his appearance was dashing
Wants education, he was smart enough to understand rival those university students.
Want strength, he had his mind and body trained in the family's private army.
Want ability, the grandson had proved to master various skills, albeit it was used to coerced him and the family to give the miracle fruit.
But regardless, he indeed is skillful. But his inexpensive mouth and impulsive nature were the only thing that worries their family. Several times the family had to clean up his mess because of it. It is a good thing that the family background and influence was there.
Plus, the other party either don't want to offend them or don't want to make things ugly for some little minor things the juniors made, so the matter was levelled.
But after all these times, for all the trouble he caused, this bear child seems to never learn his lesson.
He quickly stopped the bear child from continuing to talk and cover his mouth.
'This stinking brat. That's a noble Qilion! A Qilin. You know Qilin?'
'If it was an adult of Qilin. A mere sneeze from him you would die.'
'Though young it may be, and the bloodline is a bit thin, but it is still a spiritual creature that can understand your words.'
'Be careful if it hears you. This grandfather of yours cannot save you by then'
The grandfather kept complaining and the teenager in his heart. He took a quick glance forward and he saw the Qilin had stared back for a moment then continue to move forward.
Seeing that the Qilin as if had not heard nor care what the teenager said, he heaved a sigh of relief. He stared at the teenager ruthlessly and took some clean cloth to clean the spurted tea. And after cleaning himself up, he returned to his seat.
"What is there to be mad about? I'm just saying my sympathy to the horse."
On the side the teenager kept mumbling to himself. Feeling that his grandfather stared at him fiercely, he quickly shut up.
The bear child had saw and known that the creature was unusual ever since seeing it for the first time. And the first thought that came to mind, was it a Qilin?
But then he quickly denied it.
Who could blame him? This is earth. Not some cultivation or mythical world.
On earth, it's the world of science. He never saw any flying cultivator in the sky nor flying sword.
There's no fireball or ice wall or meteor shower spells ever been sighted nor reported.
No dragon and phoenix. No so-called mythical creature. The only sighted creature reported that could be regarded of 'mythical' is just some overgrown snake in an ancient forest.
So, he denied his first guess and took the most real and convincing explanation that he could get and blurted it out.
