"So...can anyone tell me why I'm hearing about a bombing near north side of piltover?" A man with a deep voice said as he lit his smoking pipe.
Silver and the rest of the kids were sitting inside a room in the back of a restaurant where there were rickety chairs and furniture, along with a ceiling light that was swaying back and forth.
"We were just trying to show you that we could do this! That we're ready to help fight this messed up world! That treasure would have given us the support we needed don't you see?!" Vi exclaimed passionately to Vander who seemed rather disappointed.
"Don't you understand that you risk lives doing this stuff? Not just your crew lives but every other person lives down here. Because of this stunt you pulled, it's highly likely that enforcers will come down here searching for the culprits. Does that sound safe to you?" Vander explained to Vi and the others as they all say there feeling regret for what they did.
"Aren't we supposed to fight? Isn't that what you taught us?!" Vi yelled out before standing up and facing Vander.
"I specifically told you not to go to the Northside of piltover!" Vander responded while staring back at her.
Silver and the rest of the kids all looked at Vander and Vi in worry for their disagreement. "Kids..let me speak to Vi alone." Vander said to the rest of the kids, causing them to stand up and walk out shamefully.
"So what went down?" Vander questioned before getting something to help with Vis bruises.
Vi sat down with her hand resting on her head before explaining. "Me, Claggor, Mylo, and Powder got the tip from little man to go up top to piltover and the northside so that we could steal some supplies and sell them down here..Lucy and Silver kept watch to make sure we were in the clear but that's when a bunch of thugs that were following us decided to ambush us for what we found. While we were fighting, Powder had the treasure and she ran off with it with Silver and Lucy. Silver fought back one of the thugs but we ended up losing the treasure anyways..." Vi explained while Vander sat down in a chair in front of her and continued attending to her wounds.
"So it's all gone? That's good...Incase any enforcers come down here they'll have no way to trace it back to you..but Vi you gotta understand that those guys follow after you..every single one of them." Vander explained carefully so that Vi would understand everything. He knew she carried a lot of weight on her shoulders, but that's the reason why it was up to her to make the right calls.
"Yeah, I do.." Vi responded quietly.
"If you knew then you wouldn't do all that you do..it could get them hurt. Whatever you do, they do. They see you as a strong willed, determined person. That's what you are so lead them. Same as I lead the ones down here." Vander said seriously as he stood up and finished with her wounds.
"Knowing you though, I'm sure you kicked their asses." Vander said with a slight chuckle as he looked Over his shoulder at Vi who chuckled as well.
Meanwhile, while that took place, Powder was sitting out alone by a dumpster near the restaurant they were in. She had her knees curled up to her chest, along with her arms wrapped around them and face buried between them.
Silver, who came from around the corner heard sobbing coming from behind the dumpster so he decided to see who it was. He stumbled across powder causing his face to look worried and concerned. "Powder...?" He questioned calmly.
The moment Silver let out those words, Powder stopped crying and began wiping away her tears and fixing her posture with a smile. "Y-yes? What's up?" Powder asked with a fake, plastered smile.
"You okay? I thought I heard some sobbing.." Silver responded when he then walked over towards her and sat down beside her.
"It's nothing...sometimes I just-I just feel so weak and useless. Like I only mess things up for you guys." Powder explained when she immediately started hugging her knees again. Her eyes started to water and it seemed like she was trying to hide them.
"Vi, you, Claggor, Mylo, even Lucy...you all play your part. Lucy even though she gets all nervous all the time, she still does good...but me? I feel like some jinx." Powder explained while staring down at the dark, despairing alleyway grounds.
Despite this opening up of emotions, Silver didn't know how to respond, so he only sat there in quiet. Now their silence filled that alleyway and the only sounds that were there came from the rusty old pipes, attached to buildings that had water dripping down into muddy puddles.
~in Benzos shop~
"What am I gonna do with them? It's hard enough as it is." Vander explained while taking sips of the the beer that Benzo served.
"Not sure to be frank with ya'. The newer generation have a very strong fighting spirit to say the least." Benzo responded as he cleaned some of the cups out.
While Vander and Benzo were talking, Claggor and little man Ekko were also talking outside of the shop.
"So I'm curious. How'd you get that tip anyways?" Claggor questioned while looking at Ekko. Ekko was about 10 years old. He had white hair and wore a bandana around his neck with clothes meant for getting dirty.
"Eh just some dude that came here wanting some things so I got it for him. It was worth a lot buuut you know me. Ripped him off the moment I knew he didn't know how much was worth here." Ekko laughed as he started doing parkour around Claggor, jumping on barrels and flipping off of pipes.
"Ahh..that makes sense" Claggor responded curiously.
That's when suddenly two enforcers came from around the corner. They had armor and a face mask on to protect them from the toxins of the underground.
Claggor and Ekko began to slightly panic since they knew why the enforcers would be down there. "Just go hide I got this!" Ekko whisper yelled to Claggor before Claggor nodded and ran off to hide.
Ekko then leaned up against the wall with his foot planted against it and his arms crossed with a smile.
The guards then walked passed him but Ekko played it off by saluting the guards innocently. The guards nodded and walked Into the same restaurant that Benzo and Vander were talking in.
Ekko slowly panicked from what could happen and that's when he felt a sudden tap on his shoulder. He quickly turned around and dramatically yelled with his guard up. "You want a piece of this?!" He yelled with his eyes clenched.
"It's just me.."
Ekko slowly opened one eye, peaking to see who it was. It was Lucy. "O-oh...oh yeah you know me, gotta be ready for anything." Ekko said confidently before relaxing like he didn't just have a dramatic outburst.
Lucy chuckled and glimpsed over at the restaurant door. "I saw those guards pass by..I wanted to help someway and that's when I saw you." Lucy whispered quietly and nervously.
"Mmm...okay follow me. I know a way we can listen to what's going on in there." Ekko responded with a nod before the two went up top and around the upper window of the building.
While all that was taken place, there was a dark area beneath an abandoned section of the docks of Piltover. It was a underwater aquarium.
"Life's not fair isn't it? You have those born down here, basically born in the mud and shadows of others. Then there's the ones up there, born as if they landed in a pot of gold the moment they came into this world." A slim man said in a suit and tie said deviously as he looked out the glass window of the underwater aquarium.
"So...what happened Decker?" The man said before turning around. The left side of his face was scarred up and his eyes seemed sinister with a fiery orange color to it.
The teen decker was tied up in a chair with guards that had weapons pointed at him. "I'm sorry Silco..we were caught by surprise an-" Decker began explaining.
"I told you not to interfere...I given you specific instructions to follow them..now there's going to be some conflict that I don't have the patience for.." Silco said before injecting something purple inside of his eye.
"T-that was them..they're the ones that blew up that building on the top side!" Decker yelled out desperately.
"Ah?" Silco looked over at Decker. His bright orange eye was somehow filled with evil and darkness despite its bright color.
"Interesting...this could play out in our favor." Silco said quietly to himself. "Let the boy go..and stay off the streets." He said.
The guards let the boy go and escorted him to the exit.
"So..how's it coming along?" Silco asked before walking over to a guy wearing a scientist jacket. The guy was working around a bunch of chemicals and specifically this purple liquid.
"It should be ready" the scientist respond before walking over to a cage with a syringe filled with the purple liquid.
The cage had a cat and a mouse inside of it. The cat was slowly trying to make its way to the rat to eat it until the scientist injected the mouse with the purple fluid. The scientist and Silco stood by and observed what was gonna happen.
That's when the rat started to go haywire. The white around his eyes started to go bloodshot red and the color of his eyes beamed with a bright purple color. His pupils began shaking inside of his eyeballs like crazy and that's when it started to morph into something different. The rat started to grow in size and seemed aggressive and violent with a bunch of purple lines spreading throughout its body. It's hands seemed to grow human like as it's long sharp claws scratched deeply against the floor of the cage.
The cat began to back up and try to escape from the cage but that's when the rat jumped and killed the cat in the blink of an eye. The cage was covered in blood and guts from violent attack.
Silco and the scientist watched the entire thing before chuckling slightly. "I think we have something extremely valuable here." Silco said seriously with an intense stare at the cage.
