The ball went on, epic instrumental music playing, the platform filled with dancers once again, and others standing at the table and taking refreshments.
"What?" I asked, my eyes remaining on Nicklaus who has been staring at me ever since.
"You seem... understanding" he mused.
"So what I wasn't understanding before?"
He chuckled. "I didn't say that"
"But you DID think it" I intoned.
"We all have our flaws"
"I meant every word I said Nicklaus... nothing will change that"
His eyes narrowed. "Will you be okay without..." he couldn't finish his words.
I smiled, placing my hand on his. "Yes I will"
"You know... the fact that there was something I couldn't give you... made me so angry and..." he took a deep breath. "I was unstable about it... I could not give you what you truly desired, I felt incapable"
