Chapter 2 - Prologue

Prologue

"Come here dear. It's time for you to sleep," the old woman said.

The little girl pout as she still want to play but she knew better than to oppose her grandma. She knows she will just receive an hour of sermon. As much as she wants to ask for another 5 minutes, she didn't want her ears clogged.

"I'm coming," the girl sadly said.

She warily walk towards the bed and flop herself in. The old woman smile as she watch the girl lay down with a pout.

"Don't be sad. Do you want me to tell you a story?"

The little girl's eyes twinkle with delight. She loves stories especially when it's her grandma telling her one. It's often scary and dark that always perks the interest of the little girl rather than scare her.

"Yes, please," the little girl politely said.

The old woman tuck her in first before sitting on the rocking chair beside the girls bed.

The girl impatiently waited as her grandma dramatically sit down.

Always so dramatic.

The girl think to herself.

When the old woman is finally settled, she began to narrate the story.

"Do you believe in beast, Solana?"

The girl wanted to snort and said no, but she didn't want her grandma to explain that those things exist.

She obediently nod her head. The old woman smile as she knows that the girl is lying. The way her nose scrunch gave way.

She decided to ignore it and continue to talk.

"There's a story about a beast who's father is Hades. Hades created him to become the next heir of his kingdom. But little did he knows, he created another beast just like him. But more evil, selfish and powerful. His creation ruined his kingdom. He killed thousands of Hades people and even Hades himself. But to Hades last power, he casted a curse to his creation. He cursed that he will have someone to summon him and that's the reason for his death. The end," the old woman finish.

The little girl's brows furrowed. She can't believe the story is that short, it didn't even made her sleepy.

"Why is it so short grandma?" the girl whined.

The old woman laugh in amusement as she strode towards the girl's bed, slowly. She touch her head and soothe her hair.

"That's how the story goes. I can't do anything about that."

"What happen to the beast then?" the girl asked, extremely curious.

The old woman shrug and tuck her back in as her blanket ruffles because of the girl's constant movement.

"Aw, grandma," the girl whined again.

The old woman shook her head.

"I just don't know. Now go to sleep or the beast will come and find you, " the old woman said with a dark voice.

The girl playfully rolled her eyes as she knows that beast don't exist. It's just her grandma's imagination.

The old woman kissed the girl's head and secretly cast a spell. The girl, who's completely oblivious about it noticed that her eyelids became heavy.

Now, I'm suddenly sleepy.

The girl wondered but soon forgot it when sleep consume it.

The old woman smiled sadly. And whispered.

"I'm sorry dear. I can't do anything about it. You're the chosen one. But the Gods and Goddesses will guide you. Sleep now dear."
