Seven Years Later
An alarm clock from the bed side table is ringing nonstop. Someone from the other room shouted followed by a pounding knock on the door.
"Yaaahh!!! Kirstin, wake up. Your alarm clock is so loud and yet it can't wake you up? What a sleepyhead you are. Come on open the door!" Leigh said as she knocked on my door.
I barely opened my eyes but I am forced to wake up just to open the door of my room. Leigh is so furious when I opened the door so I immediately retreated from my steps.
"Okay! Okay! Fine! I got it." I said to her as I raised both my hands as if caught by a cop.
"Next time huh! I'm gonna break your door and smash that alarm clock of yours!" She said furiously and went out.
I just chuckled at her actions. She's a cousin of mine and like a sister to me, though were of the same age. And I knew her just too well. She's not serious about breaking my door and smashing my alarm clock. She's just too pissed when the alarm ringed. I knew she also slept late and the sound of alarm just woke her up when she's just in the middle of her good sleep.
I grabbed my towel and entered the bathroom.
After washing up, I went out for breakfast.
Years ago, when I came here, they welcomed me with open arms. I actually thought that they were some strict and perfectionist grandparents, but they are too kind for that. It's just that, every time I brought up my mother, they get mad at me.
Anyway, I'm eating my breakfast and Leigh came in.
"Work is so tiring but I wonder, why do I still push myself just to go to work? Hmmm.. Maybe because I see hot guys every day? HAHAHAA I am so lucky!"
She said happily but I just shrugged my shoulders and continued to eat my breakfast. Well, she's just some one who manages a football team of a famous football sports association so she's lucky to watch any match she wants.
...
The sun is already high when I went out. Its rays dazzled me as I lift my head to look at it. I'm currently walking along the streets downtown while busy looking around at buildings. I've been freelancing since after I graduated, and its been a while now already.
I'm busy appreciating the view when someone passed like a flash bumping me and then running away. It was like a slow motion. It took me 3 seconds to realize what happened and ran after the thief. For God's sake, he just took my phone.
Luckily, I am wearing sneakers and was able to catch up on the thief.
The thief is fast but he wish.
"I'm gonna beat you up like a pulp if I catch you!!" I said angrily while running after him.
I think he heard me since he turned to look at me. He's even slowing down. Probably tired already. After a long run, I didn't even realize that we're inside a sports field.
And just in time, a game is held and one player tripped the thief on his foot. I immediately got on top of him and punched him hard on the face. But the thief is still smirking.
"Wahhh, you still won't give up huh?! Fine! I---"
"Is this your phone?" I was about to punch the thief again but was interrupted by someone.
As I turn to look at the man who just spoke, I'm too stunned to even speak.
"What? I'm asking you if this is---" And here I thought he would say hi to me.
"Yeah. Thank you!" I said stammering as I grabbed my phone and stared at him still confused. But I came to realization real quick. He just spoke at me like he didn't know me at all. That made me raise my brows.
And now he just laughed and looked at me. Then he turned around and run into the field without a word.
What?! "What was that?! Did he just pretended not to know me?"
I might have shouted at him but a lot of players are looking at our direction. Then I realized, the ball is in front of me so I kicked it hard towards the goal.
So, he is a football player huh. I guess he pursued his dream. He was actually the captain of the football club when we were in high school. He devoted almost all his time in football then.
Anyway, seeing him reminded me about the countless messages I've sent to him and he doesn't seem to know about it.
Some guards caught the thief who stole my phone and I'm sure, they sent him straight to the police station.
I went home already after that exhausting encounter.
"Cohen Gilovich" I muttered silently. I just can't get to understand his actions a while ago.
"Oh, I thought you'll come home late today. How come you're here already. It's not even past lunch." Leigh said as she get water from the refrigerator.
"Nothing. I am just too tired from walking, I guess." I said and smiled at her as I enter my room.
"Kirstin, I know you well. Don't fool me. Come on, spill the beans."
"I'll tell you later. I'm gonna rest for now."
"You said that. I'm waiting."
"Yeah. Yeah! Whatever." I immediately fell on my bed. I don't feel like doing something right now.
"Wait!!!!! I just realized something. Who did you mention? I heard you a while ago when you just came in." Leigh came in my room slamming the door open.
"What the!!! Yah, Don't just barge in like that? And, what are you talking about? I never mentioned anyone."
"I heard you. Okay? It was Cohen Gilovich, right? How'd you know him?" She told me, that it made me look at her with my brows high up.
"Who is he?" I asked like I don't know anything.
"Come On. He's gone viral for his visuals and what more, he's an outstanding football player. Wait, don't tell me you don't open your social media?? You're unbelievable. How come you can live without social media? Haahh... Anyway, you know what, he's hot. He's freakin' hot." She said starstrucked.
"Is that so? I didn't know." I answered plainly.
"What?! Is that all?" I pushed her out of my room.
As I close the door, it made me think. So, he really is a football player. Well, he looks like it.
"Good for him." I muttered and laid on my bed. I don't feel like doing anything today.

On the other side, Cohen is taking a shower after their practice match. He remembered his encounter with Kirstin this morning. He never intended to talk to her like he didn't know her. He was in fact surprised to see her there. He never expected that they would meet again like how they first met, same place (soccer field) but different feeling.
As he came out of the shower, he hears the rain that started pouring outside. It reminded him of the night he saw Kirstin bursting into tears but he never approached her. He regretted it. But now, it seems like fate is bringing them together again.
He smiled and continued to dry his hair with a towel.
