Me Ray and Emma sat near the fire and cooked the desert scorpion.
we talked a lot while eating, I was able to get pretty good info of the situation around the desert.
this desert is called 'Sandineast Desert'. The lizardmens have a village near the river in the west of the desert where they lived peacefully but for some reason the creatures from the middle and the east of the desert started to move towards the west of the desert, and since the west is occupied by the lizardmens the creatures attacked the village, some of the creatures being the desert scorpion, huge salamander, Dry crocodile etc. the lizardmens were able to hold their own against them somehow.
The lizardmens wanted to know what made the creatures move from east to west so they sent Ray and Emma to investigate and while returning they got attacked by an scorpion and I dived in and saved the day ha ha ha.
"So if you were returning to the village you found out why it is happening." I asked
"Yes, we did but.." Replied Ray with a gloomy face.
"But? tell me what's the reason?" I asked calmly
"it's better if you don't know about it." Ray replied with the same gloomy face.
"Why are you quite now Ray!!?, tell him the truth, Hey Mr Kenji who is human, the creatures from the east and middle desert are attacking us because the Human city in the east of desert made them too." Said Emma with anger
"Emma it's not his fault." said Ray
"So what, we are being troubled because of humans, so why not tell him." said Emma
"Tell me what is exactly going on." I said
"I guess it's okey to tell you." said Ray and started telling me the actual problem.
"When we went to the east we reached the human city 'Orkenby' which is at the border of the Desert. As we were camping outside we heard few adventurers talk, they were saying that the king of the city wanted the river which flows besides our village and for that he planned to destroy the village, but since the adventurers and the soldiers in the city are not strong to fight all of the lizardmens they went and scared the creatures out of their natural habitats one by one to attack our village and make lizardmens tired and then the king will attack the tired lizardmens." Said Ray with tears in his eyes
"It's emergency then, we should let your village know as soon as possible." I said rapidly
"No use, they were already pretty tired when we left so they definitely must he way beyond their limits now." said Emma being disappointed
"But if we hurry, they could atleast run away before the king arrives!!" I said
"You really are a good person Kenji, thank you for thinking about us but we can't run away, we will go to village, tell them everything and face the king, running away was never the option." said Ray
Their resolve was solid and there was nothing I could do to convince them to run away.

"let me come with you guys." I said confidently
"Well we don't have anything to lose anyway so alright." said Emma
We rested for the night and started walking towards the village early morning
we reached there by evening and the situation was as Emma told, they were at their limit.
Ray and Emma explained everything and why I was with them, the villagers were confused but they didn't act rudely toward me, infact they offered to hear me out.
As I was still thinking how am I gonna help them a small and cute baby lizardmen came to me and asked me, "Are you hungry?"
"Yes I am hungry." I replied
"Here you go." said the baby lizardmen and gave me a small ball.
"What is this?" I asked as I had no idea what it was.
"It's my last candy, we won't be able to get food for a while so eat it." said the baby lizardmen
"What's your name?" I asked.
"My name is Kian." he replied
I ate the ball and found out it wasn't candy at all, may be Kian saw some kids passing by who had candy and asked his parents for it but since they can't actually go to the city and get candy they made something out of plants to satisfy their child.
"Are you hungry Kian." I asked
"Yes~ But don't worry about me, I am a strong kid." Kian replied
"when was the last time you ate till your stomach was full." I asked
"I don't remember." said Kian looking down
"You know Kian, When the fighting ends, let's all have a feast and eat all we can." I said
"yes" said Kian with a smile on his face
I walked and gather the whole village together because I just came up with the plan.
"Thank you everyone for atleast hearing what I have to say, I have found a way for us to win."
everyone looked surprised but the hope in their eyes had still not returned so I continued my speech.
"The king must have already left and might arrive any time, they would be traveling without resting, and since the king is pretty confident about his win I don't think he made the preparations for the traveling through the desert."
"What do you mean kenji?." asked Ray.
"They won't be carrying food for the journey since they must have thought they could just hunt and eat while traveling, but the king made the adventurers scare the desert creatures to run away from their natural habitats-"
"They won't find anything to hunt and eat!" said Emma
"Yes! and since there will be shortage of food as well as they will be tired from the journey, their situation won't be any different from ours." I said.
