Chapter 9 - Meet Michael

Casey looked at Nathan who kept blaming himself. She took his hand and said "no I'm not mad at you. What happened was an incident, and now the most important thing is, I'm fine. I'll stay by your side."

"I'll never forgive myself if you didn't survive last night," Nathan said, bending his face.

'Yeah, I don't know exactly, but maybe Clara didn't survive because it wasn't Clara, but I was with you,' Casey thought.

Nathan sat quietly, looked at Casey sadly, and even kissed her hand many times. I don't know what was going on in his mind, a feeling of sadness that was so deep over his feelings, made his eyes feel hot until he finally cried.

"Why?" Casey asked.

"It's okay," Nathan replied, wiping his tears with a reassuring smile. "I'm just too scared to lose you because you're half my soul."

"Don't be afraid anymore… I'm still here," Casey exclaimed trying to get used to being Clara even though she knew very little about her.

Check...

Suddenly the door opened, causing Casey and Nathan to turn their heads towards the door. The man immediately frowned when he saw who was coming while the wife looked confused because she knew who it was.

"Who are you?" Nathan asked, getting up to face the man.

"I'm Michael, Casey's boyfriend who had an accident last night while on her way to the hotel where your wedding was held," replied the man who turned out to be Michael. he looked disheveled but dashing in jeans and a white shirt and black jacket like he'd been on a long trip and hadn't slept all night. He glanced at Casey who he thought was Clara. "I didn't expect her to have an accident, and you also had a poisoning incident almost at the same time," he continued.

"Casey had an accident?" Nathan confirmed.

"Yeah... she's in a coma now, even her life expectancy is very slim," Michael explained with a crook of his face. ." she didn't have time to congratulate you on your marriage," he continued.

Casey who was lying down felt she understood what was happening. but she found it impossible to say that actually what was inside Clara's body now was her, even she felt she didn't know how to return to her body which was notified in a coma. there is a pity to see Michael who looks sad, even seems to regret what happened to her.

'If you could just spend a little time with me, maybe last night we could go to a party together, and maybe I wouldn't have an accident,' she thought.

Nathan glanced at Casey who was silent. "Honey, do you want to see Casey?" he asked.

Instantly Casey woke up from her daydream. "Yeah... I want to see her because she's my new friend who's very memorable to me...I didn't think she had an accident when she was going to attend our wedding," she answered.

"I don't think so now because she will be moved to a private room. I also have to take care of the funeral of the driver who died in the accident," said Michael.

"So Benjamin died?" Casey said spontaneously.

Nathan frowned, glancing at Casey in surprise. "Honey, do you know Casey's driver?"

"Eh..." Instantly Casey became nervous. "Yes, I know him. Casey mentioned the driver's name when she was talking to me on the plane."

"Hopefully you get well soon and I hope you will help pray for my love so that she wakes up from her coma soon," said Michael.

"We will always pray for her ... We will see her after she has been transferred," Nathan said with a pitying look at Michael.

Michael just nodded, then immediately left the room. He rushed down the hospital corridor to the room where Casey who was in a coma was about to be transferred.

"Michael!"

Michael looked back and saw Mia walking hastily towards him. he turned his body, looked at the cousin of his lover.

"What happened?" he asked.

"Has Casey been transferred? I was just in the ICU but she wasn't there... I wanted to ask the nurse about her whereabouts, but I finally saw you here..do you know where she was transferred to?" Mia asked with a sad look on her face. "I'm really worried about her... I spent the whole night looking after her with daddy. But I came home for a while to have breakfast and change clothes, but when I came here it turned out to be..."

"I asked the doctor to move her to the best room here. she will be fine. I'm sure of it," said Michael before Mia finished her sentence.

"Does that mean she's conscious?" Mia asked.

"Not yet," Michael replied then turned and continued walking saying, "but I'm sure she'll wake up soon because she's a strong girl. She'll be going through some strong times soon."

Mia was silent, looking at Michael who looked cold to her. she immediately followed the man with hasty steps until they met Oskar, who was Mia's older brother.

"Oskar, is Ben ready to be sent to the funeral home?" Michael asked.

"Yes….just taken out and will be escorted to his home in Oakland," replied Oskar with a flat look. . . .he looks manly and fierce with a beard that grows thick in his firm jaw, has slightly curly hair that is slicked back, and wears black jeans combined with a blue t-shirt and black leather jacket. "Are you going to come with me to escort him?" he asked.

Michael was silent, remembering Casey's very worrying state. "No. For now, I can't focus on anything other than Casey. I'm not going to leave her alone when she's so worried. I'll stay here with her," he replied.

"I want to be with Casey too," Mia said.

"Okay then, let me, daddy, and mommy go to Oakland to take Ben's body and at the same time meet his extended family," said Oskar then took a deep breath. "This is something I never expected...I'm finally going to take my driver back to his house lifeless," he continued languidly.

"This is fate, and but I will ask the police to investigate this accident case," said Michael.

"No need," said Oskar swiftly, then patted Michael on the shoulder. "Let all of this be my business. I will ask my trusted person to take care of this case with the police. You better focus on Casey," he continued.

"Eh, I guess that's right," Mia said awkwardly.

Michael was silent, remembering that he rarely had time for Casey. "Okay then. I leave everything to you. I will always take care of Casey," he said wearily.

"I will accompany you," said Mia as if she always wanted to go with Michael.

"Thank you," Michael said then continued walking down the corridor without waiting for Mia. He continued to walk slowly, devastated, full of regret and fear. 'I hope this incident will not make you leave me forever. I can't be without you,' he thought...
