Chapter 13 - Casey's Decision

Casey fell silent with her face bent, sat on the edge of the bed opposite Arion. Silently, she thought about how to find out what was going on while she was here with the very possessive Nathan. surely she had to be good at managing her time and persuade Nathan to give her freedom.

"Ah yes ... Actually you have less time," said Arion.

Instantly Casey woke up from her daydream, looked up at Arion with a frown. "What do you mean?"

"Since you've been in Clara's body for ten days, now you only have 89 days," Arion explained casually.

Casey let out a shaky breath. "Could I... How can I find out what happened while I'm imprisoned here..Nathan couldn't have let me go to search for the truth."

"Use your wits. I can only tell you about your time in Clara's body... I'll be monitoring you... You don't have to worry," Arion exclaimed.

Casey nodded, looking down, not knowing what to do now. She looked back at Arion but it turned out that what she was going to stare at was no longer there.

"Arion... Arion!" Casey stood up and looked for the mysterious man. "Arion... Where are you? You can't just leave! I need your explanation again, I need your help!"

Casey walked here and there, through the walk-in closet, bathroom, and balcony terrace but she couldn't find Arion. The woman returned to the main room, then sat on the edge of the bed with her head down languidly, tossing her hair back.

"Why... Why does it have to be like this? I don't know who is good or bad for me and Clara!" Casey was confused, even almost crying until her eyes shifted to her phone which was on the table, ringing to the tune of Lana Del Rey's song "Cinamon girl" she immediately grabbed the sophisticated object and saw an incoming call from a contact number named "Mommy", then immediately answered it.

"Hello," Casey said.

"Love, have you arrived at your new mansion yet?" Verena asked over the phone.

"Yeah, Mom...Now I'm resting," Casey answered blankly. For some reason, she felt so sad to think that the woman she was talking to knew that her daughter was dead.

"Thank God. Take good care of yourself and if you're not busy, don't forget to call Momma always... Mommy always misses you... Even mommy sometimes still feels worried that poisoning will happen again."

"Yeah, Mom... I'll be calling mommy often."

"Of course. .by the way, where's Nathan?" Verena asked.

"He's been away for a while because he has important business," Casey replied, then lay down a little with her back against the pile of pillows.

"That means he left you alone in the mansion?"

"I'm not alone, Mom..there are already several bodyguards and maids here. Mommy doesn't need to worry ... I'll be fine," Casey said with tears falling just remembering Verena's face. 'But your daughter is gone..after 89 days, she will completely disappear from this world,' she thought sadly.

"Never go alone, and don't just accept food or drink from unknown people. Mommy scared, Mommy still traumatized..."

"Yes, Mom. Everything is safe here and there are no fake maids. Mommy calms down."

"That's okay then, mommy, turn off the phone first. Love you."

"Love you more."

The phone line was disconnected. Casey put her phone on her lap, then looked at the section of the wallpaper that showed a portrait of Clara's face that looked so close and beautiful.

"Now... I'm Clara now," Casey said, feeling her face while her gaze was fixed on the phone wallpaper. "Now my name is Clara and I'm no longer Casey..for the time being, I'm going to be all Clara, to make Nathan and mommy Verena happy before they find out who I am or they'll see this body dead. I have to think so hard to get an answer for my incognizance all this time. I'm also going to reveal Who poisoned Clara, and I'm going to find out what happened to her and Nathan all along."

Casey wiped the tears that fell from her eyes. For some reason, she always felt sad at the thought of what would happen to Clara and Nathan's family. She closed her eyes and put the phone to her chest.

'I'm Clara... Now I'm Clara... Yeah... I'm not Casey. I'm just a human being trapped and trying to find the truth,' she reassured herself.

Elsewhere, in the hospital, Michael remains faithful to accompany Casey, who still hasn't woken up from her coma. The man who wore a white shirt combined with black basic pants sat on a chair near the bed, silently staring at his lover who was lying with her eyes closed, wearing light blue patient clothes and her hair fell just like that and her face looked pale.

"Babe....What do you feel now? Why did you sleep too long? Don't you miss me... Don't you want to have breakfast with me like usual? I miss you... I miss your sweet smile..." Michael said sadly, remembering every morning Casey always invited him to have breakfast together before going to their respective offices. "I no longer taste the delicious apple pie you always order for me... I'm like dying in my life. Seeing you like this, I'm helpless! how long will you always sleep? Please... Get up. We fix our relationship, I promise to make you like the queen of my life!"

Tears just fell from his eyes. Michael burst into tears, then took Casey's right hand and pressed it to his cheek.

Check...

Michael ignored the open door until someone came up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. It was Mia who was now standing next to him but her gaze was fixed on Casey. She looks beautiful in a formal dress in the form of a gray knee-length skirt combined with a white top and a special women's coat of the same color as the skirt, wearing light make-up and letting her hair down just like that.

"You have to be patient," Mia said.

"I'm trying to be patient, but seeing her sleeping like this... Makes me so angry and sick. Why is it so hard for her to wake up again? I'm so tired of seeing her like this!" Michael said in frustration.

."We can do nothing but wait for a miracle from God. Even the doctor who treats her has been resigned because her hope for life is very thin," Mia said with a pitying look at Michael.

"Fate is too cruel to her..both of her parents are gone, now she is like this." Michael held his chest and said, "and I am the one who has also been guilty because I loved her but didn't pay attention to her. I kept her waiting and disappointed."

"Don't always blame yourself, Michael. Let it happen and everyone understands that your indifferent attitude doesn't mean you don't love her, but that you were always busy," Mia exclaimed, rubbing her hand on Michael's shoulder. "Now we should wait for her to wake up but that doesn't mean we have to stay here always. You have such a big responsibility in your company, don't let things get messy because you just want to wait for her who is silent without certainty."

Hearing Mia's words just now, Michael immediately turned to look at her sharply.

"Why?" Mia asked a little scared.

Michael immediately rose to his feet, if he looked down at Mia who was shorter than him. "What do you mean she's silent without certainty? Do you think she's going to die?"

"I don't think like that at all. I also want her to stay alive and then come back healthy. I love him because she is my cousin!" Mia confirmed, staring in surprise at Michael who was suddenly angry at her. "I'm the one who knows her better, I'm the one who's lived with her longer….I'm also the saddest person to see her like this! It's not just you... You're just a lover who doesn't know how to show love to your lover!"

"But your words are like...."

"I don't want her to die... Don't get me wrong... I'm just telling the truth..indeed there is no certainty she will wake up or not!" Mia confirmed before Michael finished with his words.

Michael fell silent for a moment, sat back down with a broken feeling because what Mia said was true.
