It didn't take long for me and Quin to get settled. Then Quinn handed me a small box, inside was a beautiful dagger one that looked like it had a saphire gem imbedded in the handle. "Took me a few months to save up for it Saph." Quin said with a proud tone of voice. I just rolled my eyes and decide to grab a sandwich and digged in. "Your still an asshole you know that right?" I said inbetween mouthfuls of food. Quin pouted like a little kid being scolded by his mother.
"Come on Saphire it wouldn't kill you to say thank you." He said trying to sound upset as much as possible. "No but it would make your head bigger than before and it's already as big as those airhead commercials." I said matter of factly not missing a beat. Quin looked at me like I shot his dog. I couldn't help but laugh and got up. "I'ma go for a walk, thanks for the picnic." I said while walking into the woods for my normal jog.
"Alright give me a call when your ready." Quin said as he was packing everything up. I rolled my eyes and went on my walk in the woods. A ragedy dress, grey hair all tangled up with twigs and sticks the poor woman couldn't stand straight. And she had this satchel of old leather with a sigal of some sort.
She was being attacked by some wolves that were nipping at her feet. So I took a stick I saw and ran out with a battle cry and smacked each wolf nicely squarly in-between the eyes. After a few smacks each they decided to leave this old woman and a teenager. If I knew the trouble I gave myself maybe I would of let the woman die from the wolves. I still don't know to be honest. But I know this one choice has changed my life for good. And I made some very stupid discussions...
After that I turned to the woman and helped her walk to a rock by the river. "Hey I'm Saphire, are you ok? Your not hurt are you?" I said with such concern for this old lady. The old lady smiled at me and said in such a tired sweet voice, "Hello Saphire...you may not know my name but you have helped me dearly you also appear to have a box. May I know the occasion?" I realized I never took the dagger out of the box. ~Thats what I get for being a stupid bitch~ I thought and decided to answer the poor woman's question.
"Today is my seventeenth birthday, I was just taking a walk after my best friend gave me this gift." The woman's eyes light up as she played with my hair in curiousty, "Is this real?" I nodded my head and she smiled. "Since you saved my life please accept my gift." The old lady said digging into her bag, I was going to say no but she pulled out a necklace. It had a silver chain and a silver tiger head roaring, the black stripes looked like obsidian and the eye was of a saphire gem it all looked so real.
"Since you shown the bravery of a tiger and it's rare to see anyone help someone let alone on their birthday, I decided to give you a necklace of a white tiger. The rarest one so far..please accept my gift Saphire and do great things. This will help you in the future." The old woman said and put the necklace around my neck. I was about to say thank you when the woman just....vanished in thin air. I will admit it caught me off guard and I took a few steps back. It was very clear that I was starttled. What I didn't know was that the wolves were still watching. And decided to go to their Alpha and tell him the news.
With that I decided to run back home not bothering to call Quin. I needed to do reasurch, I had a feeling this necklace wasn't a normal one for a few reasons. One I could swear the tigers mouth moved as if it was alive. Second I never seen anything like this and Quin takes me out to find stuff for his multiple girlfriends. So I have seen a lot. By the time I got home it was sunset and the sky was painted orange yellow pink and a beautiful meganta.
I ran in the house without a second thought and went to my bedroom.
