"You're too dangerous for her. Now come."
…
Come?
My assessment of her is that she's not a threat though she's gripping the handle of her umbrella slightly strong. I don't mind getting hit by that, and I really don't think she'd do that. It looks kinda expensive. Taking a step forward.
I can't afford to be scared away by the maid. Remelia and I have a lot to say.
As I'm about to step beside her, "Sure. Thank you for your understandin--"
In an instant, the tip of the umbrella is in front of my eyes.
If I didn't stop it with my backhand, it'd blow my brain out--like it did to everything behind me. All blown up to pieces and to the wall. In the reflection of her bright eyes, my hair is thrown back, exposing my forehead. Hey, it looks like I got a new hairstyle.
"Just as I expected, you're no ordinary human."
And as my adreline, my hair also falls down. A sigh escapes, "That was a dangerous and a costly way of testing for someone. You know, you could just ask."
She jerks the tip forward, "Why did you kill it? I felt the sudden mana running to your hand before. Where is it now? Are you not scared, or just an idiot? Don't you understand what's going on here now?"
"Look," I raise my hand to show I'm not up for negotiation, "I'm not comfortable using it, please understand. Next time you try to hit me, can you do it… normally?"
Her eyebrows twitch, "A--Are you taking me and this situation lightly? Is this your attempt to show off how strong you are?"
I shake my head with a sigh. How do I say this so that she can understand that I'm trying not to use my inhumane ability without hurting her feelings? "Just, don't try to kill me."
Her eyes stuck on my hand. Ashamed, I hide them in my pocket. Honestly, I don't even know why I felt so naked that moment.
"Don't try to hide it. I can smell your hand." That sentence feels very wrong from many different angles but fortunately (or unfortunately) she continues, "--A smell of distant and old." She looks up at me, "Abandon."
I pretend not to know the context, "Okay, stop with my hand already."
"Whatever it is, you can't stop it from lingering."
"What are you even talking about? Ligma?"
"Blood."
Okay, instantly avoided. It might not be a good idea to make jokes in this kind of cold situation.
She continues, "Blood of others. More than one creature."
"Are you trying to be a fortune teller right now?"
The umbrella pokes me in my cheek, "Stop taking me so lightly, you do know you're not in a place to make jokes right?"
Well, you're the one with a maid dress, "Actually, that's a hard thing to do, with your name and all," I scan her from bottom to top. She has the same height as Ayane, does that mean Ayane will fit in her maid dress? The hell am I thinking about…
Feeling assaulted, the maid steps back… then steps back in. Her face shows a hint of redness. "Don--Don't you think your disgusting eyes can make yourself escape from me. And I don't see what's wrong with my name."
I shrug, "Sure thing Bobo."
Something grabs her throat and she presses down her glare, "You can't make me shy about it. I love that name. I may have had other names before, but if the Queen prefers calling me this way then it be so. Gulp. I am Bobo."
… Shit, my lips almost gave me away. I don't have the heart to humiliate this poor creature by laughing at her. It's just feel wrong.
"Ehem," I blow my feeling of laughter in my fist, "If you've finished saying something, would you step away, maybe take a sit a minute or two. I have important business to talk about with Remelia."
Bobo shakes her head, "It seems your ears are plugged by your stupidity. My Queen is busy right now and in no condition to speak, you're currently dealing with me."
"Is that so?" I look over her at the murmuring Remelia. "Is the Queen of Abyss and Earth, the daughter of proud Dracula, is that incompetent? I thought leaders prioritized their people over other things."
Bobo snarls, "What are you trying to do, Male?"
You don't just call me that.
"Hmnn,"
The Queen of Abyss and Earth finally pushes herself away from her couch and sits up, yawning and rubbing her cheeks. "Someone called for me?"
Bobo softens her tone and turns around to greet her Queen. "It's nothing and no one important, My Queen. It's just a human. If you feel like it, I can get rid of him."
Remelia grunts and raises her finger. Pointing at Bobo. Just a second ago, her eyes were half asleep, now one of her eyes makes it out. It's bright, threatening red. "Bobo," her voice echoes around the room, "Apologize."
Instantly, Bobo bows down to her. "If I offended you, please forgive me, My Queen."
"No," Remelia waves her hand, "Not to me. To him."
Bobo raises her eyebrow and glances back. I smile at her and she throws me a hatred look. "But my queen, I--"
Snaps.
With a snap of her finger, the room drowns in her aura.
I hold myself down.
But Bobo couldn't make it. Her whole body is shaking to the point her knees give up and touch the ground for forgiveness. He finger crawls down to her neck, begging for air and space. She can't even cough.
The room is dark.
Only the red eyes prevail.
And Remelia is saying something in the Abyss language. Saying something in a strict tone. A warning.
She then continues with the human tongue, "Disobey us again, you'd feel nothing but pain."
