We both had different ideologies, different perspectives, and different approaches to different things in general in life. And that's what causes the friction between us. We both are supposed to operate together as a unit. And yet, sometimes it just feels as though only I'm the only one who's serious about it, about what she really wants. Makes me question if that's what she really wants?
And I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't serious about it at all. But that's a different topic. Since that wasn't what concerned me now. Right now, that wasn't the issue. Even though I was supposed to welcome the new year with open arms, sadly, the chains of my past still haunted me.
When I examined the corpse for that moment, I noticed there was still one missing. I didn't make a mistake. I was sure that I had slain everyone that was in my vicinity. And yet, somehow, he had escaped. That's right! The maestro that had tailored this mission and the one that should've been my top and only priority of this trip.
I did mention that there were two reasons why I was doing this journey here. One was due to professional courtesy, and it's safe to say that Emily was taking care of it, and she was in good hands, so didn't have to worry about anything and could remain assured of her safety. And the other one was due to a personal reason, and here I am. Fulfilling the other reason of my sudden and yet surprise visit to London.
I started to notice some footprints on the snow tracks. And to confirm my suspicion, the track was filled with some drops of blood constantly forming a pattern on the track. This was what boosted my confidence that my prey was nearby.
I circled around the vicinity following the trail that lay right in front of me. But wait, there's something strange about it. I stopped dead in my tracks. Something felt off. Even if he was a different species, it still didn't feel right that he would be able to travel for such a distance without collapsing somewhere. Plus, this blood, the viscosity of this liquid doesn't add up whatsoever. I bent down to take a look at the blood, when all of a sudden I heard some footsteps run towards me, and before I could react...THUD! I was hit hard near the nape of my neck.
"Ugh!..." This is bad, I'm losing consciousness.
"Tie him up, cover his face, and drag him over to our location. Remember, he must be alive at all cost!"

"Why are you here?"
"Didn't think this would be the first question you'd ask after meeting me in a while. How long has it been?"
"Spare me the details, and just give me what I want!"
"Are you still that upset about it? I thought we've been through this?"
"I see. It looks like you're not going to give me what I'm looking for. I'll just go elsewhere and find out everything on my own accord!"
"Stop!"
"Let go of my hand!"
"Emi, this isn't like you. Why are you so cold and distant to me all of a sudden, when we were supposed to be inseparable?!"
"I've had enough of this nonsense! Why won't you just leave me alone?! Why are you always forcing yourself onto me, and trying to make me look the other way?!"
"I'm sorry. But that's the only way I can safeguard you."
"So, you don't believe that I'm worthy of taking the reins of the throne, isn't that right? Or am I missing something?"
"Look, why do you have to overcomplicate things and twist the facts by painting me as the bad guy?"
"Overcomplicate things and twist the facts?! I'm stating the obvious, Blake!"
"Is that so, then why can't you look me in the eye, and tell that right to my face? Huh, why can't you?! Is it because you're suddenly aware of me or you're just disgusted to even look me in the eye when I'm forcefully holding you against your own will? Which one is it?"
"You seriously think it's just as simple as that?"
"I believe so."
"Hmph! You're still pathetic as ever!"
"And you still act high and mighty as ever!"
"Somethings never change!"
"Somethings never change!"
"Well, I'm glad we are in unison at least about one thing."
"I'd appreciate it if you let go of my hand this very instance!"
"I'm sorry but that's out of the question."
"Huh?!"
"Why do you think that you've been called over here?"
"I would like to know that myself if you just let me free."
"So he hasn't told you anything at all, has he?"
"Who?"
The sound of a stun gun zapped and the princess lost her consciousness.
"I'm sorry, but this is the only way!"
