Tobias, the vampire spaced up and down the room, his mind all over the place. What happened out there? He wasn't so sure anymore.
He had clearly compelled her to tell him details about herself, not to kiss him. And damn, why was he thinking about that kiss?
"Tell me Orston, what did you find out about the girl?" He asked no one in particular.
However, in less than a second, someone dropped into the room through the window like those ninjas in movies.
"Master," The vampire named Orston bowed his head in greetings before reporting his findings, "I cannot confirm her claim of a memory loss, however, my source said that her friend at the party yesterday reported she had been behaving strangely,"
"Behaving strangely?" Tobias murmured, feeling the ring on his middle finger as he thought it over, "How so?"
"They had been together for a week yet after she returned from the short nap right before the king's celebration, she couldn't remember a thing about her friend, not even her name. Her friend had not even given much thought about her behavior thinking she was joking around until she created the scene that led to the discovery of her being a badblood. All this information is reliable and our source picked it up during the interrogation," Orston revealed.
"The interrogation?" Tobias was more than intrigued now and he looked at his guard and assistant for more information.
"Apparently, the king has ordered a search for the woman and General Alaska set up a panal to investigate the case thoroughly. They're treating it as critical hence every single person she related with at the party is being questioned. Our people at the palace heard the information during the process,"
"Oh, is that so," Tobias grinned, "Good thing we have her in our custody then, I need to know what Romulus wants with her. Every single one of it."
"However, I don't understand something," Orston said, shaking his head unsure, "According to witnesses from last night, they said she vanished. But then, your stone didn't light up in her presence, could it be that she's really not a witch? Then how did she vanish? Everyone saw that."
"I would love to know that as well. She's a badblood, that means she can't do magic. So, how is a badblood able to perform magic? This is the first time I'm hearing of such?"
"Then could it be that she's not from our world?" Orston suggested.
"What?" Tobias was stunned.
"I didn't think about it earlier when I heard it but her friend claimed she said she wasn't from this world?" Orston said only to receive a straight look from his lord.
"If she's not from this world, then what world? You must have been there to be able to believe in it?" Tobias said mockingly, causing Orston to scratch the back of his head in shame.
The truth was that all of the characters in the game were confined to the ideology of their world being the only existing planet with the presence of living beings. They were nothing but merely advanced NPC providing the best gaming experience for the players. What's the use of knowing too much? They would only destabilize the game.
"I'm sorry, my lord, I was not thinking straight," Orston apologized immediately. He must have been a fool suggesting that.
"It's alright, no one is above mistakes. Moreover, her presence has done nothing but stir up the waters that have been calm for a while now. I wonder how Romulus is dealing with this change," He said, a smirk forming at the corner of his lips at the end of his statement.
"Then master, do you think they sent her? "
At the mention of "they" Tobias' expression changed at once and he straightened up.
He answered, "That is highly unlikely else I would have been informed beforehand,"
"Then is she our enemy?"
"A for or a friend, I don't know yet, however, one thing is for sure, the girl has a thick air of mystery around her and I would do everything to uncover that,"He said and turned to Orston.
Tobias ordered him," From now on, you keep on eyes on her every time and everywhere. I want to know what she does, says or goes. If Romulus is after her, then there must be something special about her and we can determine whether she would be a friend or foe,"
"Yes, master," Orston accepted the order without complaint.
"You may leave now," Tobias dismissed him before going to sit down on his bed.
Tobias rubbed the rings in his fingers wondering if it developed some sort of fault. He should report this incident to "them", but he owned them no planation neither does he need their involvement.
Dahlia was special, he could feel it in his bones. She appeared out of nowhere like a shooting star and he wanted her for himself. But until then, he would have to figure out her usefulness before Romulus does.
Meanwhile….
Dahlia remained in that position even after the vampire left. What if she moved around carelessly and that vampire comes for her again, killing her this time?
As much as death was appealing, it meant she wouldn't be able to return to real life. Her mind went back to the kiss and she felt like banging her head against the head.
How did that happen?
Well, Dahlia didn't exactly know how to distract a vampire for crying out loud! But that was until she remembered those fluffy k-dramas she used to watch back then on earth and the idea hit her like boom! And she just did it - even though she was shaking like a leaf now.
She kissed a vampire! Dahlia didn't know whether to be thrilled or scared for her life.
The backseat feature was not what she had imagined at all. It was like being in the backseat of a car while the chauffeur drove around. In the sense that the system took over her body and though she was aware of everything happening, Dahlia could not control her body's locomotion.
One could also compare it to being in a trance. Dehlia knew and sensed her lips moving but what she had said to that vampire to have made him scurry away like that, she had no idea.
So she asked mentally,' What did you do system?'
