''I am Jagrath, Guildmaster of Mortifer.'"
Guild called Mortifer was one of its kind. It was very different from any other guild in yggdrasil. It was a trading guild instead of a fighting guild like any other guild in Yggdrasil. They were located on Asgard. Their main purpose was to trade items or trade information. It may seem a bad idea at first glance for the games like Yggdrasil where information is the key to victory. But after giving it some thought anyone can think of advantages it provides.
Advantages such as; if anybody tried to raid their guild base they would threaten other guilds to protect their guild base otherwise they would reveal information about their respective guild base information to other guilds. Or if anybody needs any info for a particular dungeon, they would have to provide necessary items for information or a percent share of items they farm. And so on.
However, the Mortifer guild was just more than that only. Before starting their guild as a trading guild, they were too a survival for the fittest type guild like any other. They started trading after capturing and making a 2400 level guild base. All 32 members of Mortifer were shocked when they found a way to make Divine-class items a bit easily. After creating several extra Divine-class items they started selling those extra Divine-Class items for information or Yggdrasil gold or some other Legendary-Class items which their members may need/want and vice versa. Soon after they became one of the top guilds in Yggdrasil. For the other players, they were a one of the many means for getting information on dungeons, Yggdrasil gold, items, and more. But an easy one. They had some rules for their trades.
First, if someone wants information on other guilds they have to pay more than that guild had paid for keeping their information safe, plus you have to give Mortifer information about your own guild and let one of their members visit the guild base to check the reliability of the info.
Second, If anybody wants items such as Divine-class items or any other. They must bring appropriate amounts of yggdrasil gold and that amount will be checked by one of the members of Mortifer. If they find an incorrect amount of yggdrasil gold or if they try to fraud with it. The Mortifer Guild will launch a full-scale assault on their guild base.
When they first introduced these rules they were sure to be afraid by other guild members or even criticize . However, other players now can't do anything other than accept it because Mortifer had information about their respective guilds and Mortifer now was spread all over Asgard. Plus the rumors of them being friends with the most feared guild Ainz Ooal Gown help them avoid any conflict. They were lucky to have the incident of complete slaughter 1500 players happen just before the 5 months of them announcing rules. As it was still fresh in their memories.
"Please call me Mortifer, by all means"
Name sounded a bit different from when he said it before but none here neither noticed it nor mind it.
"Uhhhhhhhh…." all three of them could not help but mutter a sound in total amazement.
"We are grateful for your generosity. To let lives of such ourselves call you by such majestic name. Lord Mortifer" surprisingly Raymond said it with genuine amazement.
"I appreciate such kind words. However, I still have some questions left and I believe in being casual. Therefore, please don't take offense if i do " said Jagrath while lowering his hands and looking straight in Raymond's eyes.
Scary! Though Raymond when his eyes met with Jagrath's eyes.
It would definitely be scary to look at that smile for Raymond. It was definitely a smile, a sweet smile but it still was a scary smile to Raymond. Maybe because Jagrath was a very powerful being in his eyes.
"Azael. You too haven't introduced yourself yet. Shouldn't you? " asked Jagrath with a tone hinting of curiosity. Azael's body visually stiffened at being asked something.
"Yes, I haven't properly introduced myself." replied Azael without lifting his head.
"Come here and please introduce yourself properly to Cardinal-dono and his advisers."
"Yes! With pleasure" said Azael with a voice full of pride
Azael stood up from his position and walked toward Jagrath with steps full of elegance and face full of joy.
He stopped just a couple steps before Jagrath and ahead of those three figures- Raymond, Peter and Josef.
Azeal put his right hand on his chest with palm curled into a fist. And bowed his head slightly
"I am Guardian of Asgard, Butler of Lord Jagrath, Azael."
Announced Azael with pride in his titles and in his name which was given to him by Jagrath himself.
"mm-hmm… now that introductions are over-"Jagrath paused and looked over everyone. Then, as if looking satisfied, he nodded and continued"-shall i ask my other questions here, in enemy territory, or…?" Jagrath just left it at that.
His question shook them a bit. Specially- Cardinal Raymond and his advisers Peter Perk Leo and Josef Perk Leo. They were perplexed at that statement by Jagrath because they haven't told Jagrath that they were in enemy territory. But he was able to figure it out, without them telling him that they were in enemy territory and was also considering the safety of information and indirectly telling them to pause their conversation for now and resume in friendly territory which should have the job of Cardinal Raymond or his adviser instead of Jagrath.
They were amazed while thinking about the statement made by Jagrath. But that shouldn't be the concern for them right now. Their concern should be the question asked by the Jagrath right now.
Normally you wouldn't want your saviour to be such a shabby hut. But Cardinal's have thought the total opposite of it. No. It would be wrong to say that they thought quite the opposite of it. They just hadn't thought about it. Cardinals were thinking of asking summoned Angel-Jagrath- to attack 'evil undead' just after being summoned into this world.
But the way events turned out. It would be rude for Cardinal Raymond to ask Jagrath to defeat 'evil undead'. Now, they can't do anything else except agree with Jagrath. Or, they might risk displeasing Jagrath and it wouldn't result in good for Slane Theocracy in displeasing Jagrath.
As to remembering that several have passed and he hasn't answered Jagrath. He hurriedly spoke.
"Yes!.. Mortifer-sama, I-is correct.. But, with your appearance in c-city… uhh.. Might frighten citizens… a little"
Hearing his reply, Jagrath put his right hand on his chin as if in some deep thought. Or maybe not because he spoke just a seconds later.
It was a right worry because seeing two angels in a capital would definitely frighten citizens a little but it would most definitely create a lot of chaos in the capital of Slane theocracy. So, their worries were obvious.
"Hmm? Well, we can transform into something more humanoid. Would that work?"asked Jagrath while his hand on his chin and with a hint of troubled expression.
"'Huh? …. What?!'" unintentionally shouted three of them simultaneously.
