Chereads / Prince, Take Away My Innocence! / Chapter 11 - To The Rescue

Chapter 11 - To The Rescue

The lowly vampire dared to look down at her literally, when even nobles below her wouldn't even dare to look at her in the eye.

She was just nothing but a princess who had left her kingdom to live. That was all people believed, and rumors about her flew around the kingdoms.

The vampire's voice echoed in her ears as he spoke in a loud voice, "Human girl, you're definitely more than what we think you are. Now, let me do the honor and take a sip of your blood."

Only one thug of a vampire remained, but this didn't mean that Hena would be able to flee from him.

He was a strong vampire and she was just a mere human being.

But that didn't mean that she would just let this take her blood.

Hena gritted her teeth, turned her back away from the vampire and started running away. But with the vampire's extreme abilities, she was immediately stopped when the nasty being grabbed her right wrist.

As she tried to wriggle herself away from his grasp, the more the vampire's grip on her wrist tightened.

"Let go of me," Hena said as she squirmed away from his grasp. "There's no way I'll let a lowly vampire like you take my blood!"

The blonde vampire scoffed hearing her words as he said, "You're nothing but a mere human being as well. Resisting is futile, just offer me your neck and it will only seem like a bite of a mosquito."

"Even a lowly mosquito is not allowed to take my blood," Hena glared as she exhaled in exasperation. "Only one person is allowed to do so!"

The vampire froze in his tracks. His dilated red eyes went back to normal as his voice suddenly became low, "One vampire is allowed to do so. Don't tell me…" he trailed off, eyes widening in shock as he came into a realization. "Don't tell me you belong to a royal or noble vampire?"

Luckily, the prince had arrived and saved her.

"That's right."

A low but familiar baritone voice echoed throughout the alley.

Hena has never felt this happy to hear this certain strange voice. Just hearing a few words, she already had an idea of who it was.

"She's my wife."

The blonde vampire froze again as he widened his eyes in shock. The grip on her wrist was already loose and Hena didn't feel that much in danger compared before.

She turned her head and saw the man who claimed of the fact that he was his wife. His entrancing, wayfarer-red eyes, aquiline nose and prominent cheekbones made her take a deep breath.

"Luka," she said in a whisper, almost in an exhale.

He had a mysterious look in his face. Contrary to what Hena had always seen, the vampire prince appeared serious, the muscles of his face contract as if he was restraining his anger.

The vampire prince wore a formal black suit that exuded the elegance he had. He stood tall, as if he teleported into the place without any word. Hena returned his gaze to the thug, whose gaze was now lowered.

The prince's badge shone through the night and the thug immediately dropped on his knees.

Luka stood behind Hena as he grabbed her arm, guiding her to stand where it was safe. The moonlight shone on the vampire prince's face. She had always seen him with a playful smirk and a flirty gaze. It appeared that she won't be safe from his scoldings later on.

And that was behind him.

Hena had never felt safe. Ever since her parents died, her life was always in danger. She had to rely on herself, her senses and wits to survive.

"I apologize, Your Highness," the thug said as he fixed his gaze on the ground, without meeting anyone's eyes. "I never expected to meet the Your Highness's woman in the marketplace."

Luka lowered himself and grabbed the thug's hair and said, "You should know that this is a secret. I'll have your whole family, and its next generation erased whenever I hear rumors of my wife running around the town."

"Y-Yes, Your Highness!" the thug responded.

After a while, Luka deeply exhaled as he fixed his gaze on the thug, "Now get the hell out of my sight."

Without further ado, the thug rose from the ground and ran towards the opposite side of the road. And when he finally disappeared from Hena's sight, it was now her turn to drop her knees on the ground.

It appeared that she had tried to be strong, but her knees already gave in. Droplet of tears came out of her eyes as she realized how scared she was from earlier's event.

The ground seemed like the only place that would comfort her.

Not until she met gazes with the vampire prince yet again.

It was not his first time to save her from danger like this. And yet, she had never even thanked him.

And whenever he did, Luka always claimed him to be his wife.

For a moment, she felt her heart flutter in happiness.

The prince's lips curled into a neutral smile. As he bent his right knee on the ground and used his left knee to support his upper body, the vampire prince wiped the tears on her eyes and kissed her lips out of comfort.

"Don't worry." His voice was dreamy and his red pupils dilated while staring at her. "As long as I'm here, I won't allow anyone to touch you."

Hena wanted to say the magic words.

'Thank you.'

It was a simple phrase that explained her gratitude towards him. But whenever she tried, no words would come out from her mouth.

The princess had several spiraling thoughts on her head. And there were one thing that made an impact on her, and that was the fact that she wasn't alone in this battle.

"I know that you're still shocked and confused." Luka continued, "But you leaving the castle is still another thing."

Blinking her big, round eyes, Hena felt chills coming onto her spine.

"You need to be punished."

"Punished?" she echoed.

"That's right," he answered with a smirk. "My beautiful wife needs to be punished."

It appeared that, the night will be even longer than Hena expected
