Zera twisted the key. She and Jaspreth finally arrived at the secluded house.
They had been too careful that even the cats they had passed by didn't hiss at their presence.
Throwing the door open, Zera immediately felt at home. It was basically their house, but this had been more of the home she wanted to be in if she had a choice.
However, Zera knew that would only be possible if she didn't move schools. She could stay there while in college.
It was a cozy place. Despite the few gathered dust from being abandoned, it was still as Zera could last remember.
The space was enough for her and her friends to move around and get things done. The living room had the basic amenities. A small television was present. Above it was a painting of a flower.
Zera looked away almost immediately. She didn't want to be reminded of the past that her father wanted her to forget.
