Just as Nayowmi held Zera's gaze, images flashed in her mind's eye. At first, she didn't know what was happening.
The flood of images confused her that her brows furrowed and she lost her focus for a few minutes before being able to come back to her senses.
'Do not disappoint me, Nayowmi,' a thin, whispery voice echoed in her ears. Nayowmi shivered, the whisper leaving pinprick icicles on her skin like the person had actually sat next to her and leaned close to whisper those words.
"Are you alright?" Zera inquired. Her voice was soft, and she was looking at Nayowmi with worry.
The latter felt guilty. She had pieced together the images that flashed in her mind's eye.
Clearing her throat, she nodded, giving Zera a response.
"Yeah, I am," Nayowmi managed to respond. Zera nodded, doubtful if Nayowmi was actually fine. But she didn't want her to feel worse by prying to know what had just happened.
