But it wasn't the lock of the door that clicked. Instead, Zera found another one of those masked soldiers. In his hand was a semi-automatic and it was pointed at Nayowmi.
Zera exchanged glances with her companion. The soldier resembled the same system-generated one. The familiarity allowed Zera to note that he closely resemble the soldier whom she had taken down on the other simulation.
Standing frozen in their places, Zera tried to work out an escape plan in her head. As always, the soldier wasn't accompanied by anyone.
For some unexplainable reason, this had bothered Zera. She wondered if the soldier was a form of a test or if he was just really system-generated.
He must be part of the simulations and they would across one in each of them. Was he a special task, one they would need to defeat?
