It was always a matter of choice.
A choice.
Zera gritted her teeth. She glared at the person behind Nayowmi.
"It's not game over unless I say it's game over, though," Zera replied. Nayowmi held her gaze, a knowing look passing between them.
Nayowmi figured a way out. That was what she was trying to tell Zera, and Zera just needed to distract the man enough until she could make her escape.
And then they were good to fight.
"So, you're the boss now?" the cocky guy replied.
Zera took a deep breath. Her patience was running low. She felt like they had stayed longer inside the simulation, like they were about to miss out on dinner and sleep.
"Leader or not," Zera answered flatly. "At least I'm not using underhanded tactics to get what I wanted."
Zera noticed the slight twitch on his lips. Hiding her smile, Zera raised an apprehensive brow his way, waiting for a response.
"Is this the part when you'll beg me to release her?"
