Zera and her friends stopped outside the closed-off building.
Clutching the two orbs dangling on her neck, Zera took a deep breath before turning to the rest of the players who came along with them.
Their shadows reflected on the ground, thanks to the moon's iridescent shine, made her feel some nostalgia.
"We started on the wrong foot," Zera began, eyeing Xavier and his team. "Each had their own goal in joining this game."
Xavier scoffed, shaking his head but didn't say anything.
Zera continued, her gaze shifting toward Trink.
"Others came on their own," Trink held Zera's gaze. She broke into a grin as Zera mouthed one 'thank you' to her.
Turning her attention to Xenon, Zera curled her lips into a small smile.
"Some came on too strong and were willing to do anything to win."
Xenon smirked, raising his chin proudly.
"And there were those who took a risk, uncertain but determined."
