Zera drummed her fingers on her chest. She was partly nervous and highly conscious about her looks.
Although, arguably, it wasn't really her who was looking at the mirror.
Because of what happened recently, the wedding was moved forward. Now Zera's heart pumped like there was no tomorrow. And that was putting it mildly.
Thundering against her chest, Zera was clenching and unclenching her hands into fists. There was nothing that could stop her hands from shaking.
"Breathe, Zera."
It was the first time she had spoken her name out loud. Time had no meaning in the place they were in. It could be months or years, but the thing was, it had no meaning.
They could have gone over for years, but it was just a minute or two passing by when they returned.
"I'm going to die," Zera mumbled. "Avalon is going to die."
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Zera stared at the reflection that looked back at her. Avalon Haze was beautiful.
