A steaming cup of hot coffee sat between them.
Zera was grateful that aside from the hug, there were no more other impulses she would have to fight off.
After all, she was still inside Avalon's body despite being part of the past. Her feelings were feelings, and in everything she does, Zera couldn't dissociate herself from them.
Fiddling with her hands under the table, Zera was afraid to look up. She didn't know how to proceed, and weirdly enough. Liam seemed to be in the same predicament.
To break off the awkward silence, Zera cleared her throat. She looked at Liam and offered a smile.
"So, uh, what brings you over at this hour?"
Liam sipped from the coffee. He looked a Zera, an odd feeling settling inside him. There was something familiar and not familiar about the beautiful woman sitting across from him.
"I don't really know."
Taken aback by the response, Zera tilted her head to the side.
"Is everything alright?"
