"Do I even want to know what happened?"
Zera shook her head. They met with Xavier and Trink, dragging them along as they exited the building.
Zera had fired the barrier-emitting gun, running for their lives. She barely had time to explain what had happened. But at least it was evident that the monsters inside the game were released all over Hearth.
Out of breath and sweat trickling down her body, Zera didn't stop until they were several buildings away from the strange monster.
"Damn," she fell to the ground. Her breathing and heartbeat were in sync. She ended up punching her chest as she tried to calm it.
Xavier looked back, checking if they had been followed or if a different type of unidentified monster would come their way.
Shaking her head, Zera blew a stray strand of hair that fell on her face.
"We're clear."
Xavier sat beside her.
"Now what?"
