By daybreak, Zera had a sore back, shoulders, and legs. She immediately got up and stretched.
She heard cracks and moaned.
"Damn," Zera murmured before checking for something good to eat. She prefers to keep their ration steady. When the time comes, they will lose their food supplies. But at that moment, Zera hoped she and Xavier would be close to finding the hideout.
If they were lucky, they should have found it before finishing their supplies.
"I'll be happy to find a mattress at the very least," Xavier mumbled.
Zera squinted and looked in Xavier's direction. She snorted. His hair was a mess, but he managed to smirk her way and tried to be charming.
Shaking her head, Zera continued rummaging through their supplies and searching for a proper breakfast.
Pulling a ham and cheese bread roll wrapped in plastic, Zera smirked. She didn't remember picking that one, but she was sure it was one of her friends.
