"Why did you do that?"
Zera looked at Xavier. It was much darker now, but he was no longer pale. The color returned to his face, much to Zera's relief.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I think you know exactly what I'm talking about."
Zera scoffed. She leaned against the hard cement. Her stomach grumbled after eating nothing for the entire afternoon.
"It was just a precaution."
Xavier drummed his fingers against his thigh. He stared at Zera, wondering what she was thinking at that instance.
"I don't know what would happen. Meeting Xenon earlier kind of killed the positive vibe."
Xavier snorted.
"He was just lucky I'm not capable of standing against him at the moment."
Zera shook her head.
She held Xavier's gaze, something passing between them--a moment was broken by their stomachs' complaints.
"I think I should try and go back for our supplies."
