It wasn't long before a surge of monsters appeared following the blast that sent Zera and Xavier sprawled on the ground.
Zera sprang to action, pulling herself to her feet and helping Xavier up. The latter grabbed the backpack from Zera.
"Go!" He stated, not giving her time to ask him what he was doing as they dashed to head back to Jaspreth and Sharmaine.
However, Zera felt the ground rumbling beneath her feet. She stopped in her tracks and exchanged glances with Xavier.
"Stampede?"
Zera nodded. She looked at where they were and realized they stood at an intersection. There were four possible directions.
"From all directions."
Zera muttered, a sense of hopelessness settling in her chest. But instead of giving up, she looked at the buildings around them and pointed at the one on their right.
"Let's stay inside until the group of monsters ran past. Hopefully, it has a strong foundation."
