Pressing buttons and trying not to panic, Sharmaine tried not to think about Jaspreth leaning against the wall beside her.
She knew he must have a lot to say, and she did too. It was already 24 hours since they last saw each other, and it somehow felt like a lot of things had happened.
"I'm sorry." Sharmaine started. She still felt guilty about lying to him. She couldn't say it in front of his friends. But if she had a chance to tell him in private, would she have?
Sharmaine knew she still would have chosen to keep her plans to herself. She would have excluded Jaspreth in it.
If only thee were no danger ahead, or if she didn't get busted by him, she would have kept it a secret until the end.
However, her guilt would probably eat at her at some point.
Jaspreth sat beside her. He watched the screen, and Sharmaine was in no way slowing down. The others were in danger, and they needed help as soon as possible.
