Jaspreth slightly pulled Zera closer and whispered in her ears.
"Why are you suddenly making deals with strangers?"
Zera frowned and looked at her friend. Xavier and Derek walked ahead, keeping them 'guarded' as they searched for their friends.
"We don't need to trust them. But, admit it, we need help. We could no longer do this by ourselves."
Jaspreth considered Zera's words and sighed. He stared straight ahead. He wasn't sure if they would be able to convince their friends with the same logic.
But he would leave that to Zera. She seemed to know her way around people. If he were to ask Xavier, he would surely confide that he didn't see that deal coming.
"You sneaky little thing," Jaspreth mumbled, a smile slowly making its way to his lips. He playfully riffled Zera's hair.
Zera immediately slapped his hand away.
"Gross," they looked at each other and chuckled.
