Grossed out, but knowing the key was essential, Zera waited for what was going to happen next. The dead man had closed his eyes, slowly falling back into the tub. The black water seemed to refill on its own.
Before it could disappear, Zera rushed to grab the key and hurried away before she would catch another glimpse of the corpse.
"It's proving itself more and more to be a haunted house," Beatrix whispered. Eros hummed from outside, giggling like a little girl.
Despite what had happened to her, the idea of seeing Eros' ghost was another thing Zera wouldn't want to experience.
The corpse was one thing. But her ghost was another.
"Maybe after this venture, we would succeed in creating our version of a horror house and earn money while sitting and enjoying watching people scream in fright."
Beatrix snorted.
"You made us sound like villains."
