Dahlia sat opposite her "brother" and waited for him to say what she knew he would.
"Well, my dearest sister, do you remember what you promised me when I agreed to help your father?"
Dahlia raised her head, looking him in the eyes, "I do, Nathan. I made a promise, and I am willing to fulfill it. "
Nathan was actually taken aback. He had expected her to refuse. He had even prepared his speech. It was full of persuasion, a hint of coercion, and stopped just short of a threat, if need be. He had rehearsed it and all, yet she agreed...just like that. He wasn't sure if he was pleased that she was willing to keep up her end of the agreement or upset that he hadn't gotten a chance to flaunt it. One could say he was simply at a loss right now.
