Sébastien had been approaching the edge carefully when he looked up and noticed just how much closer the trees were than they had appeared to be. Well, this could be a problem, he thought to himself. If the person was hidden between one of the trees, he might not have been able to see them until the last minute. While there were very few trees, seeing as he could count the number left after they appeared to have been trampled, the few that remained were rather big. The bigger the tree, the bigger the shadow cast by it, and in those shadows, many things could be hidden. Such as a person who might be trying to fool him into thinking that no one eats there while they blend in with the shadows of the tree waiting for an opportunity to strike.
It was what he would do, without a doubt.
