Chapter 129 - Gasping Breaths

Stay quiet. Try not to move. Don't breathe too hard. Don't cry.

She covered her mouth with a hand while using the other to cover her sister's mouth to limit the sounds of their heavy breathing as they paused to catch their breaths behind a tree. As she gasped desperately for air, she was reminded once again that she had been in this type of position just an hour so so ago when she had been running for the deranged Nathaniel Murrows, hit at this point, that had nothing on her. She had thought that at that point she was more afraid now than she had ever been, but now she learned true fear. Fear of the unknown is terrible, but knowing exactly what you were afraid of wasn't all it was cracked up to be either.
