Then he heard something or someone stepping on a particularly dry patch of grass. They probably hadn't expected to do so since the ground was covered in blood, making it damp in most places. He felt his body tense up. He looked around, checking the surroundings for more clues, but all he could see was an ocean of bodies as far as the eye could see. He stretched his palm out on the ground once again and saw the person walking towards him with their sword drawn. He drew in a shaky breath, his heart thumping loudly in his chest.
Not out of fear, but of anticipation. It meant that someone else was here with him in this very field. At the very least, he could get someone to hopefully answer a few questions for him, or if he was really in luck, he could possibly discover a way out. Of course, that is only if the person didn't attack him too fiercely and he didn't end up killing them during the battle. That would be disastrous. How would he get his answers then?
