Chapter 117 - A Black Hole.

He really couldn't figure it out. They swarmed around, practically covering the moon's glow with their feathers. He had reached down for Sébastien and found himself feeling like his soul was being pulled from him. It was enough to make him cry out from the pain it caused. Agony. It was all his brain could process. He couldn't even see what was in front of him, nor could he have any sense of what was happening. His world began and ended with intense pain, so bad that he saw white. 

The next thing he knew, after the pain ended, he was met with a peculiar feeling of weightlessness. He had quickly opened his eyes, only to realise he was falling into a literal dark hole. It wasn't his proudest moment, but he screamed like a child who had scraped his knee from falling over while playing. After he had screamed for what felt like at least five minutes, he finally tapered off because he realised that he was falling, but he had yet to reach anywhere.
