He was in charge of tracking them down. He may not have had much of a choice in whether or not he did it, but he sure as well wasn't going to make it easy for them to get to them. As soon as he was close enough to smell them before the others did, he made a decision. The first time, he deliberately stepped on a large twig. It made a loud, clear sound. In fact, it was probably as loud as if he had stepped on a branch. Then, he whipped his head around as if looking for the person who did it. His face frowned.
"What the hell are you guys doing? Why are you making this much noise? We are so close. What if they hear the noise?"
In response, they all looked at each other, attempting to figure out where the noise had come from. He turned back around and heaved a silent sigh of relief. He took a deep breath, smelling which direction they had gone in. He quickly showed an excited look on his face.
