As the dust began to settle on the battlefield, a remarkable change swept over the once-controlled beasts. One by one, they shook off the influence that had bound them to the man in the black cloak. Confusion gave way to clarity, and their instincts led them to realize that the battle was over, and their unnatural aggression had subsided.
With a collective sense of relief and regained awareness, the beasts turned as one and began to retreat. Their massive forms, once menacing, now moved with a sense of purpose as they galloped and marched towards the edge of the battlefield and the nearby forest that had been their home.
The warriors, and their leader watched in awe as the creatures disappeared into the woods, their retreat a silent acknowledgement of the return to their natural state.
