Meanwhile as Rafael and Lorenzo were talking in Rafael's office at the nightclub , Carlos took Ashley to a private room as Rafael ordered him to .
" So you are Carlos , right ? " , Ashley asked Carlos to break the deafening silence as it's been a while now that she was there with him and he still didn't say anything .
" Yes , that's my name " , Carlos simply replied .
" I'm Ashley , nice to meet you Carlos . You work for Rafael , aren't you ? " , Ashley asked again .
" Yes , I'm his right hand " , Carlos said coldly .
" What do you do for him exactly ? " , Ashley asked curiously .
" As a right hand , Rafael gives me his full confidence and I give him my total loyalty . Thus , he gives me the most delicate and important tasks. And it's up to me too to take care of his businesses when he isn't there or when he is busy with something or someone else " , Carlos explained to Ashley .
" Ah !! I see now . You are like his best friend then and you must know everything about him even his little secrets " , Ashley replied .
" Yes , we can say it like that too " , Carlos simply told her .
" And what were you doing at this nightclub ? " , Ashley asked him .
" We are here for work " , Carlos replied .
" What kind of work ? " , Ashley asked again .
" Well , Rafael owns this nightclub so we are here only to do some check ups and some appointments " , Carlos told her .
" He owes this nightclub ? " , Ashley said with a surprised tone .
" Yes , and many other nightclubs , casinos and hotels too " , Carlos told her .
" Seriously ?! So he is kind of rich ? " , Ashley asked him .
" No , he is not kind of rich . He is very rich " , Carlos said .
But then suddenly
And then Carlos 's phone rang so he answered .
" Was that Rafael ? " , Ashley asked curiously .
" Yes ! Let's go now ! He is waiting for us outside " , Carlos told her .
But suddenly a deafening noise broke out and then everyone began to shout.
" What's happening Carlos ? " , Ashley asked .
" A grenade exploded " , Carlos said .
" A grenade ?!! But why would a grenade explode here ?", Ashley asked , panicked .
" It's not the time for questions, I have to shelter you first " , Carlos said and then helped me to get up .
Then Carlos dragged me out of the private room, everyone shouted and ran in all the senses but this movement was even more intensified when I heard shots.
Everyone was jostling to the exit until a while I was pushed down and when I saw Carlos was no longer.
I ran from the best I could get away when gunshots resounded again. There were several men with hoods and several weapons in hand.
When I tried to run away , I found myself face to face with one of these men . He pointed his gun towards me and said : " You're going to die tonight , b*tch ", at that moment I did not know what to do, I was shaking and tears began to flow from my eyes. This time I thought it was the end for me. So when a shot resounded I immediately closed my eyes and shouted with all my strength. And when I opened them the man who pointed his weapon towards me was on the ground with a ball in the head. Suddenly my vision was troubled and I lost consciousness.
The next morning ...
A horrible headache makes Ashley regain consciousness again . She opened her eyes slowly and carefully scanned the room where she was. She was lying on a large bed in a very luxurious and spacious room and noticed that it was already daylight.
She then quickly realized too that she was no longer wearing her clothes from last night but was wearing as it seems a man shirt with only her underwear below so she thought that she may have spent the night with a stranger.
She quickly got up off the bed to look for her clothes and got away from her quickly before the person she had spent the night with came back in the room but unfortunately she didn't find her clothes anywhere. Despite that, she still took the risk to get out of the room which led directly to a sort of corridor. Then she heard some noises at the end of the corridor so she decided to go there.
" I want our men to post here, here and here " , Rafael told his men while pointing places on a map.
" And I want you to strengthen the search of this neighborhood until you find clues or anything that could lead us to the responsibility of last night's events, you hear me ?!" , he said to his men again but they seemed to have their eyes fixed elsewhere and they were no longer listening to him .
" Hey !! Did you all hear what I've just said ? What do you all have to look behind me , uh ?" , asked Rafael furiously.
" Uhm ... Rafael ?! Just take a look behind you ", Carlos told him while pointing behind Rafael.
" What ?! " , Rafael said , while turning around.
Ashley was standing up right behind him and only wore the shirt from earlier with no bottom .
" The last one who is still watching her, I'll tear off his eyes. Is that clear ? Now go back to work !! " , Rafael said firmly so his men all rushed to look elsewhere .
Ashley was very embarrassed by this situation as she was half naked in front of about ten men. Then Rafael was eager to get her out of the room and reappointed it to the room earlier.
" What were you thinking ? You should never have to get out of this room like that " , Rafael said with a raised tone .
" Excuse me ?! I woke up in some random bed and found myself half naked. I don't know where and you want me to stay wisely there, huh ? ", Ashley replied furiously.
" Anyway where am I Rafael , huh ? What happened last night ? I heard shots and a man pointed his gun towards me that I thought that it was the end …", Ashley then said when she was about to cry and was shaking .
" Shush ! It's over now . You don't have to fear anymore . You are safe with me " , Rafael said while taking Ashley gently in his arms.
" Rafael ?!", Ashley asked when she was still in his arms .
" Yes ", he replied .
" Where are we ? And where are my clothes ? And what happened last night ? " , Ashley asked.
" Whoa !! One question at the time . First of all, let's say that you are in a safe place and for your clothes I took them off to make you more comfortable after you fainted after last night's attack " , Rafael replied calmly .
" An attack ?! " , Ashley asked , surprised.
" Yes , but don't worry. My men and I are already taking care of that. I'll make sure that the responsible will pay for it " , Rafael said .
" My friends ?! Are they ok ? I didn't see them from last night " , Ashley told him, worried.
" I'll take care of that. But right now you need to take some rest , I guess that you are still in shock after what happened last night . If you need something, don't hesitate to ask " , Rafael told her, with a smile.
" I'm okay Rafael. I just need my clothes and my phone. My friends are certainly worried about me. That's all and then I'll leave " , Ashley said .
" I'll bring you new clothes and your phone too but I won't let you go anywhere " , Rafael told her .
